Crazy Few Days

I had my 35.5 week check up yesterday and my blood pressure was high yet once again! I have had a 24 hour urine test and bloodwork taken and Dr. McAlpine diagnosed me with white coat syndrome (when blood pressure is only high at the doctor's office), but it still drives me crazy that I can't calm down when they take my blood pressure! I'm not scared of the drs. office. I actually like going and listening to the little buddy's heart beat! I'm just scared to get my blood pressure taken...silly I know. Well, the dr. that I saw yesterday wanted me to go over to triage and get more blood taken and do a non stress test for Camp. Everything came back wonderful! The nurse said my blood is better than normal and Camp passed his tests with flying colors. But the oncall doctor wanted me on strict bedrest and wanted me to come back into triage today for another non stress test and blood pressure checks. Talk about sending a girl's blood pressure through the roof!! So Adam and I went back to triage today and my blood pressure was a lot better than it was yesterday. I guess because I knew what to expect this time and the same nurse was taking care of me. Soooo I was able to go home and no more bedrest. Ahhh....the longer he can stay in there, the better. I'm 35 weeks and 4 days today. The hospital considers everything before 36 weeks preterm, so I have 3 days and he really should be good to go! My next appointment is this Thursday and I get to see Dr. McAlpine this time!! I'll be glad to talk to him and get his opinion on everything. He's cautious, but in a way that doesn't make me flip out....and I really like that! :)

5 More Weeks & Another Party for Camp!

I'm going to say this every week until he's born, but oh my goodness, 5 more weeks!!! I think everyone can say that 5 weeks is not far away at all! I'm sooooooooooo excited to meet the little buddy that I can hardly stand it! Adam is very ready too! We had our third and final baby shower today and we got some amazing things! A bouncy seat, booster seat, diaper pail, shopping cart cover, lots and lots of blankets, sleepers, and gift cards! I can really say now that I think Camp is set! He can come now! :) The sweet teachers at Faith threw the shower and it was so nice to see everyone. School started 2 weeks ago and I have to admit that I'm very sad that I didn't go back. It was so surreal seeing my old classroom. I know that I have an even better job ahead of me, but teaching at that school was a dream. BUT being a mother is what I was put on this Earth to do and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!! I'm even more blessed to be able to have the opportunity to stay at home with him.

The Past Few Days

Well we survived Tropical Storm Fay!! We probably ended up with over 20 inches of rain! It didn't stop raining yesterday. The power went out yesterday morning around 9 and then didn't come on until about 7:30 last night. Our cable and internet were still out until about noon today. Man, I can honestly say that I would go insane without cable or internet....and electricity! It started to get pretty muggy and warm in our house yesterday and I'm very thankful it came back on. There are still people in the neighborhood with no power...yikes. Adam and I ate lunch and dinner out with friends yesterday and he even played football in the rain with a bunch of guys. We were going stir crazy and just had to get out. There were tons of streets that were closed due to flooding and trees down. On Saturday morning around 2:30 am, I heard a very loud wind gust and then the worst cracking sound. I grabbed Adam (who was sleeping very soundly) and screamed "Oh my goodness!" He woke up in a panic and thought someone was breaking in!! We then heard an even louder crack and three trees in the park had been snapped! We had no damage...thank goodness, but the trees fell pretty close to our fence.

It almost looks like a little tornado came down and got the trees. A tornado hit the park years back in almost the same exact spot.

Bored puppies, sad they can't go out and play!!

Ohh Bethel....

I just checked my email and saw that Beth had tagged me in a photo on Facebook. I was wondering what picture it could have been because I haven't seen her in over 2 months (which is a sin). So when I logged in to Facebook, this picture popped up. I have no idea where she came up with this idea, but she has a whole album of her friends like this. Needless to say, I was sitting at the computer by myself and laughing hysterically. I think that hairdo looks great on me. I was thinking about going short anyway! :)

Funny

I just got home from Publix and I thought this was too funny not to share.
My checkout lady asked me when I was due and I told her 6 weeks from today. She said "Oh, I thought you were going to say 4."
Ok so do I look 2 weeks bigger? Why 4? Why not, "You look great for only having 6 weeks left!"

She then went on to say that 6 weeks was still a long time from now. Way to burst my bubble, check out lady! :) Haha!

6 Weeks To Go!

This is straight from Baby Center:
By this week, fatigue has probably set in again, though maybe not with the same coma-like intensity of your first trimester. Your tiredness is perfectly understandable, given the physical strain you're under and the restless nights of frequent pee breaks and tossing and turning, while trying to get comfortable. Now's the time to slow down and save up your energy for labor day (and beyond). If you've been sitting or lying down for a long time, don't jump up too quickly. Blood can pool in your feet and legs, causing a temporary drop in your blood pressure when you get up that can make you feel dizzy.

Thank you Baby Center for giving me the excuse to slow down and save my energy! :) I'll be putting off that second load of laundry!

Haha....wow. I can't believe Camp's due date is in 6 weeks. I think I say that every week, but 6 weeks sounds so soon! I had a dream last night that we went to the hospital, but hadn't packed a bag yet. Maybe that's a sign telling me to get on it! I have the checklist printed out of everything we need to bring. I also went to Target and bought lots of little toiletry items so we aren't running around trying to pack up shampoo and deodorant while I'm in labor! I go back to the doctor August 29th and then it's weekly appointments from there on out. I really feel like this pregnancy has flown by, but when I think back to the night that Adam and I found out, it seems like ages ago. :)

OMG I Can't Believe It!!!

I made my nursing cover today! It took a lot of trial and error, but I ended up making it! Don't look too closely, but I think this is really going to work. I am very proud of myself for doing this! At the sewing class on Thursday I probably earned the superlative "Most Likely to Fail", but I've now changed into "Most Improved Sewer". Haha! I had a lot of issues with missing pieces and messed up bobbins and I think my sewing teacher was regretting she ever signed up to teach the class. I think I've gotten all of that figured out and I'm so excited to go to my next class and learn even more! This week we are making a pillow case....I'll let you know how that goes.

Sewing Projects & Corn

Since my first sewing class begins tomorrow night, I needed a project ready to work on once I learn all I need to know. I came across a tutorial for nursing covers that looks pretty simple. The one that I liked from Target is $30 and I have about $9 in materials in the one I want to make. I think the green is great!

Picture of a finished product.

Adam went to the farm last night and brought home these ears of corn!! I'm so excited to cook them. I don't think there is anything better than corn on the cob in the summer. Mmmmm!

It's Starting To Look Like A Nursery!!

The delivery company came this morning to deliver Camp's changing table/dresser. It looks wonderful!! I'm so pleased with it. Everything fits perfectly and it was so nice to get everything out of laundry baskets and stacks and put everything in the dresser. Now all that's missing is the little buddy!

Thank you to ALL of Camp's grandparents for this wonderful gift!!

Happy Girl

This will be arriving tomorrow morning. I simply cannot wait!!!! I'll be able to put all of Camp's onesies, pants, and shirts up. I'll also get to play around with the baskets and set up his diapers and wipes and all the other extremely fun things that I've been waiting to set up!!!! I just have a few more minor details and the nursery will be complete. Fred is going to paint the glider that the Meyer's are letting us have and I have one more crafty piece of artwork that I'm working on. It'll be just fantastic to have this all set up and ready for Camp. I'm so excited to see the finished product and I'm sure you are too! :) I'll get pictures up when all is complete.

Beach Fun

This past weekend Adam and I went to the beach with Micah, Danielle, & Sophie. The boys fished all day Sunday while the girls relaxed and enjoyed the back porch (in the shade & breeze). Adam and Micah met us at Dockside for dinner. They just drove the boat up to the marina, hopped out and ate dinner with us! Danielle, Sophie, and I got a nice car ride home and the boys had to drive the boat back to the ramp in the dark! They were exhausted when they came back, but they had a great day!

The Narn will only jump up on the couch at the beach. I think it's the perfect height and she just gets extra sleepy while she's at the beach. I snapped a few pictures of her and thought they were hilarious!

Adam & Micah pulling into the marina!

I just looked at the pregnancy ticker and I can't believe that Camp's due date is in 49 days!!!!! It's just crazy. I feel like this pregnancy has gone by so fast! I'm just now starting to get really uncomfortable. I'm waking up about three times a night to go to the bathroom and sometimes I have a hard time falling back to sleep. I'm also noticing that I'm doing a slight pregnancy "waddle". I met my mom and Chandler at Bagel Bagel about a week ago and they were watching me get out of the car very ungracefully and they thought it was so funny. I didn't even know they could see me! :) I have been having some groin pain, but really that's the only complaint I've had this entire pregnancy! Camp has been moving around a lot! He rolls around all day and I love watching my stomach move....it's the weirdest thing! I'm getting to the point where I just can't wait any longer to meet him. I just can't wait to see who he looks like and to get to know his personality. I can't wait to be his Mama!!!!!

So Sweet!

Camp got another sweet package in the mail today! It was from Summer with Initially Yours Monogramming. I've gotten to know her through ordering her wonderful children's products and she was so sweet to send this precious burp cloth for Camp! It matches his nursery perfectly. I've ordered lots of things from her for gifts and for Camp and everything she does is amazing. She's so talented! Check out her blog!

My Visit to the Police Department

I recently found out that the Tallahassee Police Department offers free carseat installation on Wednesday mornings. Installing Camp's carseat was on my list of things to do (obviously) before he gets here and I was a little worried about doing it myself. So I took the carseat and base up to the police department and a very nice officer installed it for me! He also showed me how to tighten straps, adjust the back of the carseat, and how to take it out of the base. It's such a great service!! Now I know that Camp will be extra safe in his carseat!

Can't you just picture the little buddy in that thing??? :)

Getting Organized & Saving Money Has Never Been So Fun!

After hearing all the buzz on coupons and bargain finds, I decided that I'd take in a little part of the action. I purchased this handy dandy file folder for $1 at Target and the rest is history. I labeled each section by store and also have sections for my lists (I make about 30 each day) and for receipts. I've always said that I wanted to save every single receipt to see how much we spend and where, but I've never followed through. It's also great so I can return things if need be. So now all of my coupons and rewards receipts are filed nicely in this folder. Now I can take advantage of all of the extra savings because normally I throw coupons in a drawer and forget about them. I'm going to ONLY use coupons for things that we need. I don't want to go too overboard and spend more money on things that we don't even use regularly. I printed out a bunch of coupons that I plan on using on Monday when I go grocery shopping and I'll make sure to blog about how much I saved!

Big Boy Camp!

I just got back from my 31 week appointment with an ultrasound. Camp is measuring at 4 pounds, 7 ounces! He's also measuring at 32 weeks and 6 days. It just makes me feel so reassured that he's growing and that everything looks good. Dr. McAlpine said to expect him to be about 8-9 pounds. I had a different ultrasound nurse this time and she commented on how big his hands were. We have heard that EVERY single time we go in for an ultrasound!! There's no doubt his hands and feet are big and his legs are long. The nurse also commented on his "pug" nose and I was like "hey....he has his mama's nose...watch out lady!" :) Haha. Oh and she also saw a little hair, but not much. Hopefully he won't be completely bald, but I'm not expecting him to come out with a full head of hair like I did. I go back in 2 weeks for my next appointment. I can't believe I'm already down to biweekly visits. He's gonna be here before we know it!!!

Another Package for Camp!

UPS brought another package for Camp today. It was from my sister Charlotte. She sent us this wonderful extremely soft blanket with Camp's monogram and a mattress pad cover for his crib both from Land's End. I wish the blanket was a little bigger so I could cuddle up in it! It's really the softest thing I've ever felt. I love both of them and now his crib can be totally put together. Thanks Charlotte!!

Dream House

Not that we are even thinking about moving anytime soon, but I found this house plan in Southern Living and fell in love! It's the perfect house! 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a play room, office, and it's 2500 square feet. Nothing huge and no wasted space. I'm all about not wasting square footage. I want to be able to use every bit. We've also talked about adding on to the house we have now, the location is perfect and we are really spoiled. It's just fun to look around! :)

Fun Stuff!

Yesterday was Camp's second baby shower. We got lots of cute stuff, but I ended up with no cute pictures! :) So I'll post pictures of some of my favorite gifts! I've been looking for a mobile for Camp's crib and the only one that has jumped out at me was the UGA mascot mobile. The bulldogs are precious and each bulldog is wearing a shirt with the Georgia G...which can also stand for Gunter. Thanks to my mom and Chandler, Camp now has one! My mom also got us adorable postage stamps to use when we send out the birth announcements. I LOVE them! Check them out!!

New Color Scheme

Here is our living room now...minus the rug because a certain black dog tee teed on it. (It will be replaced soon!) I chose the light turquoisey pillows to match the dining room, but now I'm thinking about changing that color to a limey green. The picture over the fireplace has pretty greens in it, so it would match nicely.

I want to make pillows out of these two fabrics.

And I like this chair too. We desperately need more seating in our living room so I've been looking for chairs like this forever! It's neutral and would pretty much go with anything.

The pillows might be a reality if this whole sewing class teaches me a lot, but the chair might have to wait for a while. :)

30 1/2 Weeks

To do a little comparison- This is at 22 weeks.

30 1/2 weeks.
How much further can my tummy go? Although, I'm very proud of myself for gaining only 14 pounds so far. :)

After putting the crib together, I found Adam laying in bed reading this book. Bless his heart!!! I heard him calling from the bedroom "What month are you in?" and I knew what he was doing. He then told me that I should be sleeping on my side at night and that we should start saving for college now. He said the book estimates college tuition at $45,000 a year in 18 years. I love it that Adam's really getting into all of it!

And what post isn't complete without a picture of the Narn? This is her typical sleeping position and I think it's so adorable.

7.21.2008

Assembly Complete

Camp's crib arrived today and I was like a kid at Christmas. I could hardly wait to set it up. Adam took a nap after dinner and I waited patiently for him to wake up rejuvenated enough to help me put it together. I even drove to Circle K and bought him coffee so he would be extra pumped up! The directions were fairly easy and we managed to keep the crib scratch and dent free. :)

It arrived in this ginormous box.

We're now down to three smaller boxes.

I told Adam to smile and he said he wanted an action shot.

Another great action shot. :)

The finished product! I think we are going to lower the mattress to the next level so the bumper pad fits better. I haven't washed the crib sheet yet and everything is just pretty much thrown on, but I had to get a picture to give everyone an idea of what it's really going to look like. I'm sooooo happy with this crib! You can just tell it's made very nicely and it's exactly how it looks in the catalog. Adam and I are very very very thankful to his Mamaw and Papaw for getting this for Baby Camp.

Deacon

This little boy is absolutely precious! He's soo teeny and wrinkly and cuddly!! He was such a good traveler on the way home. Before we met the breeder, we did a little shopping at Jeffers. I've shopped online there for years, but it was neat being able to get everything there and not have to pay shipping. Their prices are great. I ended up getting lots of stuff for Annabelle and Ellie.

Ahhh What A Beauty!

While I went to Dothan with my mom and Chandler, Adam stayed home and cleaned the house and put out pinestraw in the yard. What a special treat!!! I pulled up in the driveway and got my camera out right away. I just had to take a picture of the yard! Adam also planted a few new plants the other day. Everything looks wonderful. It's so nice to have a husband that actually enjoys working in the yard!

Slow Blogging Week

It's been a slow blogging week and because I HATE to check blogs that haven't changed, I decided I'd find something to blog about! :) I think I finally figured out how to upload the moving files from Camp's 4D ultrasound. They weren't that exciting, but it's fun to see him move a little. We are busy getting things settled for the little buddy. His crib should come in on Monday and his changing table/dresser should be here in a few weeks. I can't tell you how excited I am to get everything all set up. My mom brought over his travel system yesterday and I've had fun pushing it around the house and getting the hang of it. I've washed most of his clothes and I've already gone through 40 hangers. I need to get some more! I know some of you might think I'm crazy, but I've been talking about Baby Camp to Annabelle. I truly believe that she understands everything that Adam and I say, so I want his name to be familiar once he gets here. The funny thing is, is that we used to call the kennel (where they stay when we go out of town) "camp". We quickly had to change that because I don't think Annabelle really enjoys going. I don't want her to associate Baby Camp with the kennel.

Tomorrow, my mom, Chandler, and I are driving to Dothan to pick up their new French Bulldog puppy, Deacon! Miley is still alive and well, but they all had the puppy itch and couldn't resist. I'll make sure to post some pics of the precious new puppy once I get back. Happy weekend!!!

Bargain Baby!!

I met my mom today at Once Upon A Child and little did we know they were having the biggest sale ever!! The clearance racks were 4 outfits for $5!! And everything else was buy 4 get the 5th for a penny. We ended up with 13 outfits for $21.50. I can't believe it!!! We got so many precious things. Thanks Mama Byrd!

All of the great outfits!

I'm attracted to the nautical themed clothes and for good reason! Uncle Trip and "Cap/Papa" have to be represented!

This is so Camp can be just like his "Cap/Papa" (we haven't decided on Fred's grandpa name yet and those two are in the running)

Two of my favorites! I bet the Polo outfit was originally more than $21.50. We ended up getting both of these outfits for $2.50 each.
