we are thankful

What a fabulous Thanksgiving we had!! Adam, Camp, and I headed to Blue Ridge to spend Thanksgiving week with Bebe, Papa, & Chandler. My Aunt Becky, Uncle Bill, and Grandma were also there from CT. We had such a fun and festive time up in the mountains and it was sure hard to leave!
the view just never gets old!

This was Thanksgiving morning where we were above the clouds...almost looks like water!

mmm...pumpkin bars ready to come out of the oven!

my handsome husband

Beautiful Thanksgiving table...we had 15 people for dinner so only the chosen few got to sit here! :) My Aunt Vicki and Uncle Oscar drove over from Cornelia, GA with my Nina...it was so nice to have most of the family there for dinner. We just really missed Trip!! :(

yummy desserts!

I love Camp's expression...

we "fried" the turkey in the big easy...pretty cool.

football on the party porch!

yummy turkey

time to eat!!!

yum

Camper fell asleep during Thanksgiving dinner which was fine by me!! :)

"Blue" Friday in downtown Blue Ridge...the town was hopping!!

Camper enjoyed some ice cream!

Camp loved Rudolph...Frosty and a gingerbread man were also there, but Camp seemed to be terrified of Frosty! :)

sweet boy!

all three and a half of us!!

Friday night we headed to the Pink Pig for yummy bbq!

Saturday morning view...

Saturday morning, Camp had Papa following him anywhere he wanted to go!! :)

One of Camp's favorite things about Bebe & Papa's...DaisyDinah...one word!! :) Sweet Dinah (black lab) is  15 years old!!! Daisy, Dinah's daughter, is 12 and she still jumps and plays like a puppy!

Beautiful "Fair Winds" :)

I love this picture...Camp is all into feeling "daddy's scratchy face" from Pat the Bunny. He likes to tell Adam when it's time to shave!!

It was such a wonderful Thanksgiving and we have so much to be thankful for.

november happenings

Last Friday, Bebe & Papa were in Thomasville to get a few things out of storage. Trip, Camp, and I headed up to spend the day with them and enjoy some yummy lunch at Jonah's!

Mmmm...my favorite lunch place. We were so bummed that they were out of their pumpkin cheesecake! :( We'll just have to go back real soon!

On Tuesday, Camp and I headed to the Junior Museum.

All of the animals were out in plain sight...

Camp was so intrigued...

The panther...

This was the first time I've ever seen the bear so close! Normally he's a black blob in the back corner.

Camp enjoyed the dinosaurs on display!

When we were finished with the wildlife trail, Camp was able to pet a turtle! He was so excited...this child loooooooves animals.

It's a...

BOY!!!!

We are beyond excited!! We had the big ultrasound this morning and baby boy looks healthy and perfect.  I just laid on that table watching our sweet baby with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I couldn't be happier and I'm so glad Camp is going to have a brother. Adam and I both were thinking it was a girl and we were sure surprised (although I did have a dream last night it was a boy!). Adam is over the moon and was definitely pulling for a boy...he said he's so excited to be able to say "me and my boys" Now we just need to come up with a name! :) We cannot wait to meet our 2nd little guy in five short months!!!

we love birmingham!

On Friday, Holly, Sally Kate, Camp, and I loaded up the car and headed to Birmingham to visit Mary & David. Birmingham is one of my favorite cities...it has all of the perks of a big city (wonderful restaurants, great shopping, lots to do) but it doesn't feel like a big city. It's soooo very charming and the traffic isn't bad!! :)

Friday night, we headed to Davenport's Pizza for some yummmmmy pizza and free bubblegum!! :)

kiddies on their phones...anything to keep them occupied until the food comes out!

Saturday morning, we headed to the Birmingham Zoo...Camp was obsessed with the roosters and tried to chase the poor things around the zoo.

There he goes!

We spent some time around the petting zoo before it opened, but we were able to sneak in some pets...this llama wasn't too thrilled that Camp touched him and he tried to spit at us! :)

We saw lots of fun animals...giraffes, monkeys, an elephant...

zebras

and our favorite was the lion family...the mama, daddy, and babies put on a great show for us and Camp loved watching them play.
Here Camp is checking out the lion paw prints in the ground.

After the zoo, we headed to Zoe's for a yummy lunch, visited Mary's adorable shop, and hit up Dreamcakes bakery.

Camp enjoyed a mini cupcake.
For dinner we headed to Saw's BBQ right across the street from where Mary and David live. It definitely ranks up there with Fox Bros. Camp loved the fact that we could walk to dinner and asked if we were going to walk to lunch the next day! :)

On our way back to Tallahassee we passed by Sweet P's and decided we needed to check it out. It was the cutest little store with cupcakes, cookies, ice cream and even a deli. If you're ever travelling between Troy & Montgomery, stop by!!

They had a swing that Camp and Sally Kate were a little too small for, but they both had a blast running around and letting some energy out for the rest of our road trip home.

The strawberry cupcakes were delish!!

I love stores like this! :)

Thank you, thank you, Mary & David for letting us crash at your place and for all of your wonderful hospitality!!!
