Easter 2011

Camp and I dyed eggs on Saturday. I bought a set of Lightning McQueen dyes a few days after Easter last year for 75% off and planned on using them for this year. I put the dyes in the cups, added the vinegar and nothing happened...the little tablets never dissolved! :( So much for planning ahead and saving money! Soooo I improvised and used gel food coloring, lemon juice and water! I was pretty proud of myself for creating my own Easter egg dyes and they worked perfectly!

This was the first year I attempted dyeing eggs with Camp and he really enjoyed it!

Watching the eggs very closely...his favorite color is orange!

They turned out pretty cute, right?

The blue was the prettiest!

Camp had had enough of me taking pictures and started saying "no more pictures uh me!!"

Then he said "eggs are not beautiful' :) hahah...

Oh yes, he's my child...smelling the eggs! :)
The rest of the day, Camp kept saying "Eggs are so beautiful"

Easter morning, we discovered that the Easter bunny had left Camp lots of goodies!

"it's so cooooool!"

hunting for the candy eggs the easter bunny left around the house...

After egg hunting, we all got dressed and headed to a lovely church service.

After church we headed to Easter dinner! I really didn't take many pictures yesterday, but I can only do so much! :)

At least we got a sweet family picture!

Camp enjoyed his little cousin, Nate and was so sweet to him. Camp looooooooves babies and is always so gentle. Nate and Camp are 15 months apart and it won't be long before Barrett, Camp, and Nate will all seem like the same age! I'm sure they'll have lots of fun together!! :)

We had a wonderful Easter and hope you did too!

beach trip & egg hunt

Camp and I headed to the Byrdnest last weekend to join Bebe & Chandler for a few days of Chandler's spring break. We don't pass up any opportunity to go to the beach (or to see Bebe & Chandler for that matter!) The night before we left, I decided to make some Easter sugar cookies to take down.
I love these cookie cutters...they are also great for making shaped sandwiches!

Camp even helped me!

Then he pretended the rolling pin was a gun...boys will be boys!! :)

The weather was just perfect at the beach!

We spent some time on the beach, watched lots of Lifetime movies and even headed to PSJ for a yummy dinner complete with Marge & Ritas ;) at Peppers.

We had such a fun few days!

Camp had his Easter party at school yesterday...

I helped hide the eggs for the party and stayed to watch the egg hunt in action...all of the kiddies were so cute!

They were supposed to put all of the eggs they found in one big basket so the eggs could be split up and shared equally. All of the children did such a great job!

Camp really understood the whole egg hunt thing this year. He was so cute trying to find the eggs.

Running to find one last egg!

After the egg hunt, they went inside for their fabulous Easter party...take a look at the precious goodie bags!
Preschool is awesome! ;)

Happy Easter Weekend!

a turkey & more

Adam shot a turkey last weekend and was so excited to bring it home to show Camp.
I'm absolutely in love with this picture!

Camp getting a closer look!
Adam fried the turkey for dinner on Monday...Yaya, Bop Bop, & Dave came over for dinner too!

banana pudding for dessert...so tasty!
training him early...he loves to mop too!

Camp loves everything with sprinkles...cookies, cupcakes, donuts, ice cream...he even tries to eat the sprinkles straight out of the jar!!
Everything is just more fun with sprinkles, right??

I took this picture Tuesday afternoon and I can't get over how grown up he looks!

Trip came over yesterday to watch Camp while I ran a few errands and also helped me take off the hideous gold decorative piece above our fireplace...;)
Camp was a big help! He also had a wonderful time playing in Trip's "monster truck" I left with the two of them playing in the truck and came home to them still in the truck! Trip said they did go inside for a bit, but the majority of the time was spent exploring Trip's awesome ride. :)

Camp's new big boy bed sheets came in yesterday. He kept asking me for the 'dump truck cover' and I finally figured out what he was talking about! He snuggled up with them before bed last night.
He obviously didn't want me to take his picture!

cute boy in the bathtub...

Happy Thursday!

wedding weekend

My cousin, Meryl, got married this weekend at WindMark Beach...located in between the Byrdnest and the Lions Paw! :)
Adam, Camp, and I headed down Friday afternoon to attend the fabulous rehearsal dinner catered by Paul Gant BBQ!

The rehearsal dinner was held at the Southern Accent home located in WindMark...it was the perfect setting!
Notice Camp crawling under the fence in this picture...

Wedding day and my handsome boys!

the reception was held outside around the pool at windmark...it was gorgeous, but also nerve wracking with a 2 year old!

So Adam and I offered to pay this girl $50 if she'd watch Camp for us! :) She only ended up getting $13 of that $50, but she was a huge help and so was Bebe!

Bebe and her girls...
