Top Ten

Beth emailed me the top ten reasons why I needed to visit her in ATL next weekend....

  1. Because you haven’t seen my new place, met my new roomie or been around my new neighborhood!

  2. Virginia Highlands has a market every Saturday and Sunday with cute stuff from locals

  3. VaHi has amazing brunch restaurants- anywhere from cheap but plentiful to more gourmet!

  4. The Shamrock festival at Piedmont Park will be super fun- great bands, green beer and good daytime fun!

  5. I’d be willing to go to Ikea (as much as I dislike the layout of that store). You know you could find something you “need” there :)

  6. You’re more likely to find your mom the PERFECT birthday present up here.

  7. Friday is supposed to be sunny so we could do a nice relaxing happy hour outdoors somewhere, or a wine tasting- I could leave work around 4 to come meet you!

  8. My favorite mani/pedi place up here is killer- better than anywhere at home!

  9. I have a great cupcake shop here- rivals Cake Shop, seriously.

  10. Momma needs a girls weekend with her bff!

Oh Bethel....you had me at cupcake! See ya in ATL!

17 Months

Sweet Camper is 17 months today! He's a million miles a minute....a sponge soaking up everything....

I decided to attempt pictures with Beary again this month and it wasn't all that hard to do! It now makes me sad that I didn't take them for 13, 14, and 15 months! :( I'll remember that with the next baby! :)

IMG_8720

Camp is at a great stage (oh wait, I say that EVERY month!) He's learning new words, getting more independent, and has an extremely hilarious personality....he makes me laugh every day.

IMG_8718

Camp has become a "dipper"....he loves dipping his food in ketchup, ranch dressing, sour cream, applesauce.

We got a CD with all of the songs from Kindermusik and we've been having fun bringing the joys of Kindermusik home! One of his favorites is when we march/walk/run and then STOP! He gets a kick out of stopping and actually does stop!

IMG_8722

I now have the honor of kissing boo boos. When he hurts himself I ask him if he wants mama to kiss it and he comes running!

He loves anything Handy Manny or Cars (The Movie).

IMG_8723

He thinks he sees his Bop Bop everywhere we go....and every time we get in the car, he thinks we are going to see him too! Yesterday he thought he saw him at Publix.....we saw a man with glasses next to us and he started yelling "Bop Bop, Bop Bop!!" Bop Bop aka Popsie (Adam's dad) is the only other person that he addresses by name.

He's still super obsessed with trucks and heavy machinery.

IMG_8738

He calls his pacis "Uh Oh". I couldn't understand why he would say "uh oh" all the time and then I figured it out!! I guess every time it falls or he drops it, I would say "uh oh!" and he caught on! It's soo cute because his "uh oh" sounds more like "uh ewwwwww"!

He sleeps with his bunny, owl, and blankie every night. When we read books and drink our milky in his room at night, I know he's ready to go to sleep when he starts hooting....he wants to go see his owl!

IMG_8733
His favorite shows are Handy Manny and Imagination Movers on Disney.....and he loves allll of the shorts in between each show.....Shawn the Sheep, Can You Teach My Alligator Manners, and Happy Monster Band are some of his faves.

IMG_8734

When Adam comes home from work, Camp expects to play in his truck.....he doesn't understand that sometimes it's raining and 35 degrees outside. He wants to do this every night. If he doesn't, he's pretty much ruined for the rest of the night!

IMG_8745

He's getting 6 teeth now.....the top two are pretty much all the way in. He's getting one to the left of his top two, two top molars on each side, and one bottom to the left of the bottom two. The poor child didn't have any teeth until 13 months and now he's getting them all at once!

Camp loves, loves, loves to read! He would read all day long! His favorite books at the moment are Peek a Boo Who, Santa Mouse, Trucks, and I Love My Mommy Because.

IMG_8749

IMG_8752

He loves pointing at pictures when we ask where certain things are. This includes photographs in our house!

IMG_8753

IMG_8754

Camp thinks that this man is Daddy! Every time we turn to this page he says Dada!!

His new favorite foods are watermelon and scrambled eggs. He also loves mandarin oranges and the lunchables for toddlers.

He's in size 4 diaper.....switched back to Pampers!

Size 5 shoe.....although his red shoes which are a size 4 still fit him.

He's in between 18-24 months clothes.....I'm so ready for spring clothing!! He's starting to grow out of his cold weather clothes!

He had his first stomach bug Wednesday night.....it was very short lived, thank goodness!! But it was noooo fun for Camp, his mama, or his daddy. Our living room rug, pillows, and my Ann Taylor 'dry clean only' sweater are now in the trash can! :) I can now say that yes there is a difference between spit up and throw up.....I didn't know if I'd be able to tell the difference or not......uhhhh yeah!

Let's Make a Deal

The Junior League of Tallahassee hosted its annual Whale of a Sale this past weekend. Adam and I attended a preview party Friday night....all I had to say was "all you can eat bbq and all you can drink beer" and Adam was on board!
IMG_8689
The theme was "Under the Big Top"....there were clowns, face painters, cotton candy, popcorn...it was so cute!

IMG_8688
Here is David figuring out if he should place a bid on a silent auction item. Adam and I REALLY wanted to win the milk for a year. :( How sad that we were more interested in the milk than a fabulous vacation getaway?! But dang, milk's expensive!

IMG_8687
Mary contemplated on getting her face painted, but I talked her out of it.

IMG_8690
And Holly loved her Rita's frozen ice.

Adam and I took a walk around all of the goods and realized there wasn't much we couldn't live without...
I did end up getting this Coton Colors 4th of July t-shirt for Camp for $1.50 (originally $26.50!!)
IMG_8692

IMG_8694
And this Mater truck....I named my own price at 25 cents, but I'm sure I could have gotten it for a dime! It's all for a good cause though! :)
After the preview party we headed out for a night on the town and we had so much fun!

Saturday morning brought my Whale of a Sale shift, but I had a blast! I served as a bagger and enjoyed viewing everyone's purchases. I will definitely sign up for a bagging shift again next year!

Camp and I spent Saturday afternoon with Beth. Beth let Camp dip his toes in her icy cold pool and now Beth is Camp's favorite girl! Camp's going to love the pool this year! Beth sent me home with a takeout box of a slice of Almond Joy Tart and she is now my favorite girl!!! :) Sorry no pictures of Bethel or the beautiful dessert....

On Sunday we had the first (hopefully) weekly supper club at our house.
IMG_8695
Here's Mary filling up her "Mommy's Little Helper" cup! Mary wasn't too happy with me Sunday night because I didn't tell her that there was mayo in this scrumptious bread....
IMG_8697
She even requested that I make it! The first time I made it for her, I withheld the pertinant information.....I didn't lie, I just didn't offer up the ingredients list! :) Everyone else raved about the bread though!

IMG_8699
We had a great spread of salad, smoked mullet, pork, and hashbrown casserole.

IMG_8709
I love this picture.....Camper is always in motion!

I spent Monday afternoon with a horrendous throw up bug....yuck! I'm thinking it was food poisoning because it didn't last but 3 hours. (I am NOT pregnant! :) ) Sweet, sweet Adam played with Camp, fed him, bathed him, put him to sleep and even went to the store to buy me Gatorade and Saltines. Ohhhh how thankful I am for a WONDERFUL husband! He even put off fishing to come home early to take care of Camp. Now that's true love! :)
I couldn't quite get it together Tuesday morning for Baby Time at the library, but we went this morning before we headed to Thomasville to visit with Nina. Camp had the BEST time at the nursing home. Cap took him on wheelchair rides and Camp was a big hit. I should learn to keep my camera attached to my hip, but I don't have pictures of that either.....

Happy Wednesday!

Be Mine

****I uploaded the videos differently so if you'd like to take a look at them, check out the post below!****

This post is a little late, but better late than never, right?!

We had a lovely Valentine’s Day! We spent most of the day at home….we ate chocolate for breakfast, Adam worked in the yard, and we played in the park.
Later in the day, we headed to my mom and Fred’s, but first made a stop at Lake Iamonia….I don’t remember when the lake was this high! Boys (including Adam!) used to drive their big trucks out on this empty lake when we were in high school!
IMG_8607

Mama Byrd and Cap had goodies waiting for us! Mama Byrd got Camp an adorable jacket that I had been eyeing for next winter! She handed me this cup and said she got it for me and hoped it was still warm...I was so surprised!
IMG_8655
I took it from her and quickly learned that it was empty…I even said “You are sooo mean!” but then she told me to look inside…..a generous gift card!! :)
IMG_8657
Thanks Mama Byrd!

We then headed to Lollie and Popsie’s for a tasty Valentine’s dinner.
IMG_8617

We were greeted with lots of goodies…including my favorite champagne.
IMG_8626

IMG_8630
Adam’s parents got this same champagne for us when we got engaged and it’s been my favorite ever since. I thought a $5 bottle of Andre was good, but this is just perfection!

IMG_8648
Camp ate way too many M&M’s, but he was sure happy!

Adam and I went on our Valentine's date Monday night. We usually go a few days after Valentine's Day so we don't have to get out with the crowds. We ate a yummy dinner at Bella Bella and then went grocery shopping at Publix! It was a wonderful date night!

We've had a busy week this week! I took Camp to the library twice for Baby Time. He LOVED it!! I was almost in tears the first day because I was so happy. He was having so much fun dancing and singing. It's such a wonderful program that the library offers and the best part is that it's free!! We also went to Kindermusik this morning. Camp is doing great with the instructions from his teacher.....he's one of the only ones that actually does what she says! He seems to be getting more and more interested each new week.

IMG_8660
I bought my first bag of Cadbury eggs at Target on Tuesday. I think, hands down, this is my favorite smell in the whole wide world! Open up a bag and smell for yourself!! :) I've already been to Target twice this week and the ever growing Easter displays are really reeling me in! Easter is so fun! I really want to have an Easter party!

This Week

My dad and Meri came to visit on Monday and Tuesday. Even though we just saw them at the end of December, they thought Camp had changed so much since then! It was a short visit, but we had so much fun spending time with them. They brought Camp a Valentine’s Day card with a truck on it….they sure know what the little buddy likes! I have it up on the mantle and Camp asks to play with it all the time.

IMG_8506

I made Bakerella’s cupcake pops and they ended up turning out pretty darn cute. I’ve wanted to make them for such a long time and figured it would be a cute Valentine’s project. I think our cupcake pops recipients were mighty pleased with their treat!
IMG_8561

Adam brought the tractor home one day after work and Camp was a happy boy. After Camp had enough of the tractor, he moved on to the back of Adam’s truck.
IMG_8568

IMG_8571

IMG_8572
This is his new face!

Adam did a job across the street this week and it was quite difficult explaining to Camp that Adam wasn’t really home to play. He would look out and see Adam’s truck and all of the fun equipment, but wasn’t allowed to go out there and enjoy it! Popsie did come over yesterday and let Camp explore around the job site though! When Popsie had to leave, Camp did not want to come back inside to his boring Mama!
IMG_8591

IMG_8583

Camp is a pro at his Mater truck. He drives it all throughout the house and even knows how to turn the truck with the steering wheel. His route starts in the living room, into the hall, through the kitchen, then into the dining room and back into the living room. I love that it keeps him so busy and that he’s able to do it on his own! Sometimes he takes a pit stop and plays with the ignition or lifts up the seat to put treasures inside.
IMG_8551

Camp is getting FIVE teeth at the moment! I had my fingers in his mouth and felt two upper molars!! I had NO idea they were even coming in! This will bring the tooth count to seven! His stitches disappeared today. Thank goodness we don't have to get them taken out. The pictures in the back of Adam's truck were taken on Wednesday and the cut looks even better now.

Love is in the Air

Last weekend, Adam and I went to a party honoring the soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs. Clay(ton) Wells! We had THE best time and enjoyed catching up with old friends. Clay and Adam have been friends for over ten years and Clay and I became friends in 9th grade when he got a brush stuck in my hair! ;) We also have Clay to thank for bringing me and Adam together…..he was our matchmaker! We are so happy for Amy and Clay and are so excited that they will eventually move to Tallahassee…hopefully sooner rather than later! We are sooooo looking forward to their wedding!

IMG_8443

IMG_8447
The beauiful view of Lake Jackson! Can you even see it?! Hahah....

IMG_8448
The food was so tasty. Fried oysters, fried crab claws, grouper, and roast beef sandwiches with horseradish sauce....just to name a few!

IMG_8450

IMG_8454
Some of the girls at the party!

IMG_8464

IMG_8456
The adorable couple!

IMG_8486

IMG_8478
Looks like we are all surfing or something!

IMG_8470
Hey Beth!

IMG_8475
Will, Clay, & Adam

IMG_8476
Clay & Liz (brother and sister....can't you tell?!)

Thank you to Lollie for watching Camp. Adam and I had no idea that we would have so much fun and stayed out entirely too late! :) Lollie knew that we needed a night of fun after the traumatic day with Camp! We are so thankful for sweet grandparents that love their little buddy!!

AND thank you all for your care and concern for Camp's forehead! The cut is healing better than I expected and I am so thankful for that! The stitches should absorb (gross!) by Saturday and if not, we'll go to get them taken out. He really hasn't been too bothered by the stitches, but sometimes he'll point to them and crinkle up his nose. :) Sweet boy!
