Big Boy Camp!

I just got back from my 31 week appointment with an ultrasound. Camp is measuring at 4 pounds, 7 ounces! He's also measuring at 32 weeks and 6 days. It just makes me feel so reassured that he's growing and that everything looks good. Dr. McAlpine said to expect him to be about 8-9 pounds. I had a different ultrasound nurse this time and she commented on how big his hands were. We have heard that EVERY single time we go in for an ultrasound!! There's no doubt his hands and feet are big and his legs are long. The nurse also commented on his "pug" nose and I was like "hey....he has his mama's nose...watch out lady!" :) Haha. Oh and she also saw a little hair, but not much. Hopefully he won't be completely bald, but I'm not expecting him to come out with a full head of hair like I did. I go back in 2 weeks for my next appointment. I can't believe I'm already down to biweekly visits. He's gonna be here before we know it!!!

Another Package for Camp!

UPS brought another package for Camp today. It was from my sister Charlotte. She sent us this wonderful extremely soft blanket with Camp's monogram and a mattress pad cover for his crib both from Land's End. I wish the blanket was a little bigger so I could cuddle up in it! It's really the softest thing I've ever felt. I love both of them and now his crib can be totally put together. Thanks Charlotte!!

Dream House

Not that we are even thinking about moving anytime soon, but I found this house plan in Southern Living and fell in love! It's the perfect house! 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, a play room, office, and it's 2500 square feet. Nothing huge and no wasted space. I'm all about not wasting square footage. I want to be able to use every bit. We've also talked about adding on to the house we have now, the location is perfect and we are really spoiled. It's just fun to look around! :)

Fun Stuff!

Yesterday was Camp's second baby shower. We got lots of cute stuff, but I ended up with no cute pictures! :) So I'll post pictures of some of my favorite gifts! I've been looking for a mobile for Camp's crib and the only one that has jumped out at me was the UGA mascot mobile. The bulldogs are precious and each bulldog is wearing a shirt with the Georgia G...which can also stand for Gunter. Thanks to my mom and Chandler, Camp now has one! My mom also got us adorable postage stamps to use when we send out the birth announcements. I LOVE them! Check them out!!

New Color Scheme

Here is our living room now...minus the rug because a certain black dog tee teed on it. (It will be replaced soon!) I chose the light turquoisey pillows to match the dining room, but now I'm thinking about changing that color to a limey green. The picture over the fireplace has pretty greens in it, so it would match nicely.

I want to make pillows out of these two fabrics.

And I like this chair too. We desperately need more seating in our living room so I've been looking for chairs like this forever! It's neutral and would pretty much go with anything.

The pillows might be a reality if this whole sewing class teaches me a lot, but the chair might have to wait for a while. :)

30 1/2 Weeks

To do a little comparison- This is at 22 weeks.

30 1/2 weeks.
How much further can my tummy go? Although, I'm very proud of myself for gaining only 14 pounds so far. :)

After putting the crib together, I found Adam laying in bed reading this book. Bless his heart!!! I heard him calling from the bedroom "What month are you in?" and I knew what he was doing. He then told me that I should be sleeping on my side at night and that we should start saving for college now. He said the book estimates college tuition at $45,000 a year in 18 years. I love it that Adam's really getting into all of it!

And what post isn't complete without a picture of the Narn? This is her typical sleeping position and I think it's so adorable.

Assembly Complete

Camp's crib arrived today and I was like a kid at Christmas. I could hardly wait to set it up. Adam took a nap after dinner and I waited patiently for him to wake up rejuvenated enough to help me put it together. I even drove to Circle K and bought him coffee so he would be extra pumped up! The directions were fairly easy and we managed to keep the crib scratch and dent free. :)

It arrived in this ginormous box.

We're now down to three smaller boxes.

I told Adam to smile and he said he wanted an action shot.

Another great action shot. :)

The finished product! I think we are going to lower the mattress to the next level so the bumper pad fits better. I haven't washed the crib sheet yet and everything is just pretty much thrown on, but I had to get a picture to give everyone an idea of what it's really going to look like. I'm sooooo happy with this crib! You can just tell it's made very nicely and it's exactly how it looks in the catalog. Adam and I are very very very thankful to his Mamaw and Papaw for getting this for Baby Camp.

Deacon

This little boy is absolutely precious! He's soo teeny and wrinkly and cuddly!! He was such a good traveler on the way home. Before we met the breeder, we did a little shopping at Jeffers. I've shopped online there for years, but it was neat being able to get everything there and not have to pay shipping. Their prices are great. I ended up getting lots of stuff for Annabelle and Ellie.

Ahhh What A Beauty!

While I went to Dothan with my mom and Chandler, Adam stayed home and cleaned the house and put out pinestraw in the yard. What a special treat!!! I pulled up in the driveway and got my camera out right away. I just had to take a picture of the yard! Adam also planted a few new plants the other day. Everything looks wonderful. It's so nice to have a husband that actually enjoys working in the yard!

Slow Blogging Week

It's been a slow blogging week and because I HATE to check blogs that haven't changed, I decided I'd find something to blog about! :) I think I finally figured out how to upload the moving files from Camp's 4D ultrasound. They weren't that exciting, but it's fun to see him move a little. We are busy getting things settled for the little buddy. His crib should come in on Monday and his changing table/dresser should be here in a few weeks. I can't tell you how excited I am to get everything all set up. My mom brought over his travel system yesterday and I've had fun pushing it around the house and getting the hang of it. I've washed most of his clothes and I've already gone through 40 hangers. I need to get some more! I know some of you might think I'm crazy, but I've been talking about Baby Camp to Annabelle. I truly believe that she understands everything that Adam and I say, so I want his name to be familiar once he gets here. The funny thing is, is that we used to call the kennel (where they stay when we go out of town) "camp". We quickly had to change that because I don't think Annabelle really enjoys going. I don't want her to associate Baby Camp with the kennel.

Tomorrow, my mom, Chandler, and I are driving to Dothan to pick up their new French Bulldog puppy, Deacon! Miley is still alive and well, but they all had the puppy itch and couldn't resist. I'll make sure to post some pics of the precious new puppy once I get back. Happy weekend!!!

Bargain Baby!!

I met my mom today at Once Upon A Child and little did we know they were having the biggest sale ever!! The clearance racks were 4 outfits for $5!! And everything else was buy 4 get the 5th for a penny. We ended up with 13 outfits for $21.50. I can't believe it!!! We got so many precious things. Thanks Mama Byrd!

All of the great outfits!

I'm attracted to the nautical themed clothes and for good reason! Uncle Trip and "Cap/Papa" have to be represented!

This is so Camp can be just like his "Cap/Papa" (we haven't decided on Fred's grandpa name yet and those two are in the running)

Two of my favorites! I bet the Polo outfit was originally more than $21.50. We ended up getting both of these outfits for $2.50 each.

Scalloping

We spent the day yesterday scalloping at Econfina. The weather was perfect and the water was so calm! My mom, Fred, & Adam picked up lots of scallops. I spent most of my time in the boat or floating in the inner tube. I figured it might be a little tough to dive down for scallops with my ever growing belly. I bet I'm pretty buoyant! :)

Heading out for the perfect spot!

Cool Fred

Our captain for the day!

He's a natural.

Chandler trying so stay afloat on the life jacket.

Doing what I do best!

Fun fun!

Who Does Camp Look Like?

We just got back from the 4D ultrasound and we ended up getting some good shots of our little buddy. For about the first 15 minutes he had both arms covering his face and I didn't think we were going to get anything! I got up and walked around for a while and he finally moved his arms. He decided to turn around at one point and then the cord was in front of his face, but we got some cute ones. I think he looks like me, especially my nose. One thing is for sure is that he looks absolutely precious!! The nurse said ONCE AGAIN that his hands and feet are big and she said his fingers are long. She said she saw a little hair too. I can't wait to meet our little guy in less than 12 weeks!

Swap!

I participated in an online blog swap and just received my package today. Let me tell you, I've never been so excited!! Opening this package made my day!! My very thoughtful partner got me lots of fun stuff for Camp including ADORABLE shoes, socks, a bib, and a cute little hat. I also got some personalized note cards, yummy chap stick, great after sun lotion, AND a precious make a wish starfish charm. WOW! Thanks so much, Jo-Ann!!!!!!!

Just had to post this pic of Narnie. She sure does love her sleep!

Dreaming

Danielle and I are signed up for a sewing class in August. I have lots of plans once I learn this trade! I'm making a list of everything I want to make. I hope I learn a lot because that list is pretty long! :)

One of the first things I want to make is this adorable skirt.

In these great fabrics!

I want to make pillows for our room, downstairs, and Camp's nursery, a bag for me, clothes for Camp, and curtains for our office. I also bought a pattern today at Jo-Anns to make the dogs some comfy beds!! I learned to sew in 8th grade so I'm hoping it all comes back to me pretty quickly.

FYI

Last night I ordered Pizza Hut pizza online. I found the entire process to be very convenient and simple. There are lots of questions about your preferences and I almost liked it better than talking to someone on the phone! I was a little skeptical at first....I didn't know whether to really expect them in 40 minutes! :) I would definitely recommend this service and I plan on using it again!

4th of July

On the boat enjoying the fireworks.

Chandler and Miley.

We had a very relaxing 4th of July weekend. We arrived in Mexico Beach Thursday evening where John Kirkland had a wonderful home cooked meal of bbq ribs, potato salad, and corn on the cob waiting for us. We spent the entire day on Friday at the point swimming in the water. Adam's family and my family were all out there and the weather was perfect. Adam and I watched the fireworks from the boat Friday night. Adam and Trip spent the entire day on Saturday fishing!! They didn't get home until about midnight....needless to say, I spent the day relaxing at the Byrdnest with my mom, Fred, & Chandler. I couldn't have asked for a better 4th of July!!

7.03.2008

Happy 4th of July!

Adam and I are off to the beach for the weekend! We are planning on watching the Port St. Joe fireworks from the boat. Hopefully the weather will be nice because last year the fireworks got rained out. We are spending a night in Mexico Beach and then the rest of the time in Cape San Blas. We are so glad that Fred and Trip will both be in town this year because we've missed Fred the past two 4ths. It should be a great time with all of our family!!!

Wedding in Thomasville

Our family friend, John Kirkland, got married this past weekend in Thomasville. The reception was straight out of Southern Living. We went to a party at this house about 3 years ago and I've been dying to go back ever since. Thank goodness Trip had his camera because as I was pumped up all ready to take thousands of pictures, my camera died.....I didn't get one shot! I guess I need to get new rechargeable batteries because that can't happen in the delivery room!!!

Underneath the food tent getting out of the hot sun!

Me and little sis!

This is my dream house.

This is the guest house located behind the main house. I could just live in this and be totally happy!

Another shot in the guest house.....I'm in love!

Sitting in front of the industrial fan....ahhhh..

Cake and fruit for dessert!

I really wanted to just jump in!! This is their pool!

Food table before the food. I never got a pic of everything out! We had fried chicken, potato salad, green been salad, pimento cheese sandwiches, tomatoes & basil, sour cream biscuits, and steamed shrimp!!! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was also wine, beer, lemonade, & sweet tea. Adam was so excited because they had mint out to put in the tea!
