Lately

We've been busy around here!! Not so busy at taking pictures though! :) Camp is at the best stage right now. So far (knock on wood) two has been AWESOME. He's talking so much and asking questions and taking everything in. He loves to hold hands and we hold hands all day long. He'll say "mama, hold hands" and then he usually follows that up with "two hands". Most of the time I'm driving and I have to tell him that I need at least one hand on the steering wheel! :)

He'll hop up to the kitchen counter and say "Hongry"...his favorite foods at the moment are the Danonino yogurts and the Sesame Street granola bars. Thank goodness for marketing schemes...I think Camp would eat anything if Elmo or Big Bird was on the package!!

He likes to play outside and will ask us to go outside with him...he'll say "mama, play outside?" I absolutely love that I can really talk to Camp...I mean the baby stage is great, but I'm truly enjoying this whole toddler phase. He's my little buddy!!

I just recovered our dining room chairs and I am in L-O-V-E. I recovered them 3 years ago with a black and white paisley fabric (which I loved) but I was ready for something new now that we are in our new house. I think we are actually going to paint our dining room the same color as our old dining room (Benjamin Moore Wedgewood Gray) along with our formal living room. This fabric will look great with that paint color.

So far, we've used the same paint colors in our new house as our old house! I guess once you find a good paint color, you just gotta stick with it!! :)

We recently had two chairs recovered and I'm so happy with how they both turned out!! Here is one of them...it used to be a hunter green, navy, and maroon floral pattern that was just too dark for our decor. We loved the chair so we decided to have it reupholstered. I Scotch Guarded it today so I'm hoping it stays clean for at least a month or two!

I still have to take a picture of the other chair...it's in our bedroom and it turned out great too!

Bebe Lives in Georgia

Camp and I went up to Blue Ridge, Georgia last Thursday and spent a nice long weekend with Bebe and Chandler. We ate lots and lots of yummy food, shopped at wonderful stores, and did fun little touristy things like pick apples and ride on hay rides! We had a BLAST and I can't wait to go back. Next time, Adam is coming with us! Fred was at work so we figured Adam wouldn't quite care so much to hang out with the girls all weekend! :) As sad as I am that my mom, Fred, and Chandler moved SIX hours away, it's fun to have such a great place to visit! We didn't even do half of the things we planned on doing, but we'll just have to go back up there again real soon!

On Friday we ate lunch at Toccoa Riverside Restaurant. It was quite delicious and I will be going back the next time I visit! The food was great and the view and atmosphere were the icing on the cake.

I only had my 50mm lens at lunch so this is zoomed in, but this was our view at lunch!

Camp was a great lunch partner! He didn't even sit in a high chair, but he was on his very best behavior. He was also a great road trip buddy on the way up to Blue Ridge and back. Driving alone, six hours, with a two year old can go one of two ways and it went amazingly well.

On Saturday we went to the Apple Festival in Ellijay. We waited in traffic for over an hour to pull into the parking lot! The festival was sooo crowded and the weather was pretty hot so we didn't stay for long. Camp went on one lap of the pony ride and then was done. At least we got this picture made! We then had a $15 corn dog and sweet tea and called it a day! :)

After the Apple Festival, we headed to downtown Blue Ridge and shopped in their many cute shops! I found this shop for Mary...who also happened to get engaged on Friday!! Hip hip hooray for Mary and David!!

On Sunday we headed to Mercier Orchards to pick apples!

We took this tractor up to the apple orchards. Camp was in L-O-V-E!!

Camp enjoyed picking the apples, but most of his time was spent asking to ride on the tractor again! :)

After we filled our bag to the top with apples, we got back on the tractor and headed down to the Mercier store. The store is right up my alley and I'd actually shopped there three years ago when we went to Blue Ridge with Adam's family. The shop is filled with jellies, candies, baked goodies, and many more fun items! My mom recommended we try their fried pies so we waited in line and bought some to take home for dessert. OMG...I can't begin to describe how wonderful these little fried pies were! I'm not one for cooked fruit, but they have their warm fried pies with apples, peaches, etc, but we opted for their cold pies...coconut, chocolate, butterscotch...YUM YUM! If you are ever in the Blue Ridge area, please go to Mercier Orchards and get yourself a fried pie!

We had so much fun and I'm glad I got the first trip under my belt. It wasn't as overwhelming of a drive as I'd expected and surprisingly six hours went by pretty fast! I can't wait to go back to visit!!! Thank you, Bebe & Chandler for having us! We miss you already!!

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a great weekend despite our last minute change in plans...Camp and I were going to visit Bebe & Chandler (Fred's at work) in north Georgia, but Camp came down with a fever quickly after he got his shots on Wednesday. On Thursday, his poor little legs were so sore that he could barely walk. So we postponed our trip to Blue Ridge, but can't wait to see Bebe & Chandler soon!! Late Thursday afternoon, Camp was back to his old self, but I'm glad we didn't risk it and drive up to see them anyway. I would have hated for Camp to be sick all weekend!

My mom got Camp one of those recordable books from Hallmark and Camp really gets a kick out of it.

He says "Bebe" throughout the entire book!

On Saturday we welcomed another fantastic win from our Seminoles! Camp cheered them on in style with this adorable shirt from Mint Julep Monograms (thanks edenfields!!!!!!!!)

Camp spent all of Saturday with Bop Bop and Adam checking jobs and looking at trucks. It was Camp's first work day and it definitely won't be the last! I'm excited that he's old enough to start doing that now! Bop Bop said it was the perfect birthday gift to have Camp with him for the day and I said it was the perfect birthday gift to have a Saturday to play by myself!! :)

We celebrated Bop Bop's birthday (a few days late) with burgers and cupcakes!

Our birthdays are all within eight days...mine on the 20th, Camp's on the 26th, and Bop Bop's on the 28th!

Camp loves to climb up on the counter chairs then get onto the counter. Yesterday, he climbed right into the sink! I guess he was ready for a bath!

We went to Spring Creek on Sunday for a late lunch...on the way we picked up Mamaw. Camp had fun exploring in his Papaw's old cars...I made sure to watch him carefully because he probably would have figured out how to turn the thing on!

While at Mamaw's I found this picture of Adam and his dad...circa early 1984 maybe? First of all, I loved that Adam is wearing the same style sandals that Camp wears now! Twenty seven years later and those shoes are still in style. And second, I thought that current Adam looks just like his dad in this picture! Camp doesn't really look like Adam as a baby...we've always thought that Camp has Adam's build, but looks more like me.

Ok...back to our weekend...

We had a fabulous lunch and although it's a long trip, it's worth it! The rolls and garlic butter are reason enough to eat at this restaurant. We even got our own private room so when Camp was done with the high chair, he was able to walk around more than he would have if we were in the main part of the restaurant.

We had a great weekend and are loving the gorgeous weather! It was sooo cold this morning! I wanted to take Camp to the park, but we might have to wait until it warms up a little to go!

I also wanted to add that Camp now calls himself "Patch". Not quite sure where he came up with that, but I tend to over emphasize the P in Camp because so many people think his name is Cam...so I'm thinking he hears the P. We think it's hilarious!

My Boys

We've been having excellent weather...for the past three days we've left the back doors wide open and the house just smells like FALL. I love it.

Bebe (Mama Byrd) and Papa got Camp a slide for his birthday and he has had the best time playing on it. He goes up and down, up and down, up and down and then repeats all throughout the day! This evening right before Adam got home from work I decided to take my camera outside to capture the fun that Camp was having. I've been so slack on my "photo shoots" with Camp and I have to get back into that routine. I LOVE taking pictures of my little boy and I always end up with some great shots (or at least I think so!) Adam soon came home and joined in on my little photo shoot. I love watching Adam and Camp play together. Camp loves his Daddy more than anything and you can definitely see the love in these shots!
