Productive

We've had an extremely relaxing and productive weekend! Adam threw his back out on Thursday and couldn't even move by Friday morning. He attempted to get ready for work, but quickly realized he needed to get right back into bed. Adam never takes sick days from work.....the last time he missed work for being sick was July 2007 when he had surgery and it was the doctor's orders!! Even after surgery it was tough keeping Adam home! :) So although Adam was hurting, Camp and I were loving having him home!! Adam even said he had so much fun just hanging out. He ended up going to work for a few hours on Saturday, but it seemed to make matters worse, so Sunday was another fun filled relaxing day!

With Adam being home all weekend, I was able to get soooooo much accomplished!! I cleaned out cabinets, closets, and attempted a few crafty things that I have been putting off.
When we were visiting Beth at her parents house a few months ago, Camp discovered this wagon in their garage. Beth told us to take it home because no one at the Madigan household had any use for it anymore. Many years ago, Beth's younger brother, JT, transformed it to a racing wagon complete with racing stripes and it looked a little ghetto.....

Ok A LOT ghetto......

But Camp didn't care and we've been taking fun wagon rides almost daily since we brought it home! I've wanted to paint it for some time now, but finally got the time to do it this weekend!
It's almost as good as new!

I also painted two canvases for Camp's room. They turned out better than I expected and most importantly, Camp LOVES them! I also finally added the three black and white framed photos on the wall next to his crib and I think it looks fantastic. I bought a new shelf to go above his changing table because the one I bought orignally looked a little dinky.....I'm just waiting for a drill and then that will be complete as well! Camp is almost 19 months old and the nursery is finally the way I want it!

On Saturday night we made cookies. We turned the kitchen light off and the oven light on so we could watch our cookies bake! Camp was pretty excited!

And last, but not least, our weekend was made even better when Trip brought over the sketch he did of our house! I asked him to sketch our house for a birthday gift for Adam and I am blown away at how wonderful it turned out!
Trip is not only single and ready to mingle, but he's also extremely talented!

The details are incredible!! Trip was cursing the fact that we have a brick house, but the hard work definitely paid off!

I was brought to tears by this little detail......little Camper in the door! (click on the picture to enlarge) For anyone that has ever been to our house recently, this is how Camp greets our guests....including Adam when he comes home from work. We will cherish this forever!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH TRIP!!!

Tricks, Trucks, Thomasville, & Tables

Catchy title, eh?!

This is how Camp watched cartoons the other day...
He drove his truck along the top of the bucket while he watched Handy Manny!

Last week, Adam brought a big truck home filled with lawn mowers so Camp could have free reign!

Camp was one happy boy!

He explored every nook and cranny!

Last night we headed to Thomasville for dinner. Aunt Vicki and Uncle Oscar were in town so we had a wonderful dinner at Nina & Papa's house.
Me and my siblings..... (Chandler, Trip, and Moi) Chandler and Trip spent last week at the beach....can't you tell?! Big sis needs a tan!

These two love eachother, a lot!! And ladies....Uncle Trip is SINGLE and ready to mingle.

Helping Cap pick up some ice that he dropped!

Camp wants his daddy to pick him up!

Aunt Vicki being silly...

There's that face again....
He's probably thinking "what is that lady doing with a plate on her head?"

We moved Camp's table and chairs into the dining room to hopefully get more use out of them! They're normally stuck in the corner of the playroom and I think sometimes Camp forgets that they are there! They are so cute and need to get some use! Maybe he can start eating breakfast and lunch at the table?!

While I was vacuuming, Camp went in his room and read some books.....all by himself! The glider has become his new favorite toy, but usually he stands up on it, leans it against the wall, and turns the light on and off. We're working hard to stop him from doing this so I was excited to see him sitting in the chair like a big boy and reading his books!

I can't believe it's already Thursday! We might go to the beach this weekend. We have the beach bug and rightfully so......we haven't been since Labor Day! Camp is going to love the beach this summer and I'm looking forward to seeing how he reacts to it this year!

Hop Hop Hop

We had a wonderful Easter! We woke up to no power and were a little bummed when we couldn't make our Easter breakfast! :( The power didn't come back on until 11, but it was just enough time to finish my deviled eggs and cookies before we headed to Easter dinner.

The Easter Bunny paid a visit to the little buddy. When he saw his basket on the table he said "WHOA!!"
Camp went straight for the trucks....
vroom, vroom

Then he discovered the candy....

"let me just dump this entire egg of gummy savers into my mouth!"

"eggs filled with candy make me happy"

"but mama, I don't think i've had enough candy yet!"

The Easter Bunny hid little eggs throughout the house....the Easter Bunny did the same thing when I was growing up!

tasty cookies with homemade icing.....I used gel food coloring for the first time and was super impressed.

Camp had THREE more Easter baskets to open once we got to Meg & Billy's (Adam's aunt & uncle)
He immediately found the Peeps in Mamaw's basket and helped himself!

"Woo Hoo.....got it myself!"

He wasn't quite sure of the Peeps...

He moved on to the Reese's.....that's my boy!

This sweet boy ate candy all day! I had to put all of his candy in a big bag and hide it because he would have done the same thing today!

Here's our attempt at a family picture! Camp got a cute dancing bunny from his Mamaw and he was too busy watching it do the Bunny Hop!
We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Best Ever Deviled Eggs

This is my favorite deviled egg recipe, ever. Nothing else compares in my opinion! It’s a must have at Easter dinner!

6 boiled eggs

¼ cup mayo

1 TBS prepared horseradish

3-4 strips cooked bacon, chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Peel eggs, cut in half lengthwise. Remove yolks; set whites aside.

In a bowl, mash the yolks with a fork and mix in ¼ cup mayo, 1 TBS. prepared horseradish, chopped bacon, salt, and pepper. Spoon or pipe yolk mixture into egg whites and enjoy!

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Field Trip

Because it is Spring Break in Kindermusik land, our Thursday morning was free. I thought it would be a great idea to head down to the junior museum for a little field trip. We took Camp when he was 13 months old and I knew he would love it even more than he did last time. We had such a great time and I didn't even bring the stroller!! Big boy walked the whole time and he had a blast!

Walking under the big net area with the eagles, vultures, and owls!

He spotted the coyote!!

Camp found the deer before I did! I said "where's the deer?!" and Camp said "der!" (there!)

Adam wishes he would find these babies up in Cairo!

It was the PERFECT day to enjoy the outdoors!

After looking at all of the animals, we headed to lunch at the little cafe in the museum. Camp was such a big boy in the booster seat!
