Poem
by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton
Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.
I stumbled across this poem this morning. I was reading and reading and then got to the last line and the tears turned on like a faucet.
For the past two afternoons, Camp has taken a nap on my chest. We go downstairs and lay on the couch and he falls asleep. Normally we're out running errands during that time and he'll sleep in the car.
I told Adam about it and he asked what I did while Camp slept. All I do is lay there and smell my sweet baby and kiss his sweet fuzzy head. It would be so easy to put him in his crib and use his naptime for cleaning or getting dinner ready. But I know the moments of him just falling asleep in my arms won't last for long. He's already changed so much in almost seven months. He changes everyday!
So here's to putting the cleaning and cooking on hold (for just a bit!) and taking the time to really enjoy our sweet little munchkins!

Easter
We had a great Easter filled with family and tasty food! We ate lunch at Meg & Billy's gorgeous home and enjoyed the afternoon. Camp had lots of fun with his great Aunt Melody. He hadn't seen her since before Christmas, but he sure took a liking to her!! He cuddled with her for hours and even took a nap in her arms.

Thank Ya Easter Bunny!
The Easter Bunny was good to Camp this year! Camp got a lot of fun things....a sippy cup, a pool float, an Elmo ball, some footed pj's, a bath time book, a sing a long CD, and some Gerber Puffs. You can see in one of the pictures that Camp already knows what Puffs are.

Do We Have a Crawler?
Nah....not quite. But look at his form! He's getting so big! Oh and check out the new mat for the playroom! I've searched and searched and finally found a decently priced one at Toys R Us. It's exactly what I wanted for this room. It's great for Camp to play on and it's nice and padded for those nose dives he takes! And why do I see Toys R Us in such a different light now that I have the little buddy? I looked at everything and wanted to get it for Camp! They had all of the fun summer things out....bubble machines, wagons, slides, pool toys. I'm probably going to regret saying this someday, but I'm so excited to take Camp to a toy store!
Look at this picture!! I'm sooooo in love with it. I got it in the mail today and I stop and stare at it every time I walk by. Meredith Russell took this and I just think it's brilliant.
Let's Take This Outside
This evening, Camp and I waited outside for Adam to come home from work. I had my camera and walked around the front yard and noticed all of the new buds and flowers. Our Confederate Jasmine is blooming and the roses are gorgeous!! I'm so excited because there are lots of buds on the Hydrangeas (those are my favorite...a tie between those and Pink Perfections). I had so much fun just enjoying the beautiful scenery and taking the time to enjoy the beauty of our front yard. Adam has done such a great job with it. I love when he comes home with new plants and flowers. I sometimes just take for granted that I have a husband that works in the landscaping business. My mom has asked me if I know how lucky I am that I will never have to mow my own grass. :) I know I'm lucky.

Camp the Entertainer
Camp has many talents and he just so happened to do them all at once last night! I was able to film all of the things that I've been trying to film! He roared, squealed, and nodded. The nodding is a new thing and you'll see in the video below that it started when Adam would whistle and nod and then Camp would nod. Normally babies shake their head's "NO" first. But Camper is a people pleaser and likes to say "Yes!". He was nodding this morning and I said "Do you have the prettiest Mama in the whole world?" Of course he continued nodding. :)

Sweet
The Heller's found out yesterday that they are expecting another healthy baby girl! We are so excited. Of course, we had to celebrate with Cake Shop cupcakes!! I added the pink M&M's for a special touch.
Camp is excited that he's now going to have two Heller girls to choose from! I can't believe how much more Camp is interacting with Sophie. He kept trying to grab her and talk to her.
I managed to capture this video of Sophie acting oh so unimpressed with Camp. Bless his heart. :)
This morning Annabelle was standing in the hallway and Camp was in the living room in his exersaucer. I told Annabelle to "watch the baby" and I turn around the corner and see this. THANK GOODNESS my camera was handy. Camp loves his doggies and he squeals with delight everytime he sees them. I pray that Annabelle and Ellie always have patience with him.

Good Things
The house is clean, dinner is made, and Camp is down for what I hope to be a long nap. Time to blog!!!
We ate dinner al fresco last night and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. No bugs, not chilly or humid. It was lovely. We even brought Camp's high chair outside so he could join us as well. We are loving our new backyard and no you haven't missed the post with the before and after pictures. I'm waiting until the grass greens up before I take the after shots. I did take some pictures of the little details that I love about our back yard.
Ooooh there you are, Peter!
