a week in the making

I started this post almost a week ago. I keep coming back to it, adding pictures, writing, saving, closing my computer, rinse and repeat! :) I can't believe August is already here and our summer is dwindling down. A few months ago when I pictured the beginning of the new school year, I knew Collins would be four months old and a "real baby" at that time and now that time is almost here!! Time sure does fly when you're having fun...and raising babies!!

We've been keeping busy with play dates, trips to the library, the grocery store, and Target...really anything that doesn't require us to go outside in this hot weather!
It's been so hot lately that even this little buddy would prefer to stay inside!

Bebe & Chandler were in town last week and it was so nice. Collins sure lights up when he sees his Bebe!

An after haircut incentive at Starbucks. Camp picked out pumpkin bread, a cake pop, and chocolate milk. After we paid for our goodies, Camp asked me if I wanted to sit down so I happily obliged. It was a fun little date with my biggest boy.

Collins is looking at Camp like "what is this kid doing??"

Camp had just said "we are friends!"  :)

Collins playing with his favorite toy...it's the first thing he's taken an interest in. Thank you, Godmother Bethel! :)

Camp likes to put his toy guns in his shirt or in his pants just ready for action!

He was running through the house pretending he was a pirate and running from other pirates.

He has a great imagination...

Silly little brother!! Collins has started fake coughing to get a reaction from us. I love it!! He's been waking up from his naps rolling over to his back and talking to himself. When we walk into his room to get him out of his crib, he lights up and smiles so big!

Biggest boy!!

Sweet little footsie!

My new favorite ice cream flavor...it says limited edition so I better stock up now! :) Publix ice cream is on sale this week so do yourself a favor and buy some! Sooo yummy!

Ready to swim at Yaya & Bop Bop's!

Scrumptious baby!!

This boy loves to swim!

I just finished Emily Giffin's latest book, Where We Belong. It was definitely one of my top faves by her. I really enjoyed it. I read most of it in bed at night with the light of our video baby monitor. :) Hey, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! There really isn't much time during my day to leisurely read books!!

I put Collins in the exersaucer today and he seemed to love it! He kept squealing and laughing when I first put him in it. He's still a little too young for it, but I think he'll really end up enjoying this new toy!

Adam took this picture tonight and I LOVE it. Camp's crying because his phone game play time is over, Collins is just chilling, and I'm holding both of my precious boys.

summertime pictures

Our summer has been a busy one. When Collins was a few weeks old and I thought about summer, I would almost panic. I was so worried that we'd be stuck at home going stir crazy. In reality, we've been going everywhere and anywhere and having lots of fun! I wish I could go back in time and tell my newly postpartum self not to worry so much! :) The thought of having two kids was definitely more overwhelming than it actually is. Once you get through the sleepless nights and out of whack hormones, the transition from one child to two is a billion times easier than going from no children to one! At least that has been the case with us.

And it sure helps when your second child is as sweet and easy going as this little fella!!
I kiss him all day long and can't get enough. MMMM!!! He's starting to really giggle and it's about the best thing in the world. He constantly has a smile on his face and he usually smiles so big that his mouth is wide open.

And we can't forget about this precious almost 4 year old boy. I've now gone from saying "He's three and a half" to saying "he's almost four" BOO HOO! I was talking to Chandler on the phone today and when I hung up, Camp asked me if Chandler was my girlfriend. I said "no, Chandler is my sister, do you have a girlfriend?" Camp answered, "Pssshh! NO! I don't have a girlfriend, but when I grow bigger and bigger I can have a girlfriend!" :) That was the right answer!

Camp took a Curious George themed music camp last week. When I dropped him off for the first day, I didn't think we'd be going back the next day. He was so sad and didn't really want to go, but he ended up loving it! It helped that we had so many friends in the class too! When I went to pick him up the first day, I waited in the lobby where he couldn't see me and I couldn't see him. The door to his classroom was open and I could hear the teacher reading a Curious George birthday book. When the teacher finished reading, I heard Camp tell his teacher, "My birthday is September 26th and I'm going to have a dinosaur birthday" :)

The class did a little performance on Friday of all the songs they'd learned throughout the week. As we've learned from previous programs, Camp doesn't seem to like getting on stage and performing. I didn't know what to expect from Camp and even told Adam not to worry about coming to watch...

He didn't sing, but he wasn't pouting this time!! I even got a little smile out of him! :)

Sweet little Reese!

The last song was about Silly Sam the snake where they got to wear sock puppets...Camp actually did a few moves during that song! :)

Kaley stole the show for sure!! :)

After his performance, I took him to get a dinosaur cookie (as promised) for a job well done. We also went to a friend's house for a pool party with some more friends from summer camp. Camp had so much fun swimming and playing!! Wish I would have taken some pictures...

Me and Camp having some fun with photo booth...

Mamaw and Collins at a family pool party last weekend...

Daddy and Camper went fishing last Sunday and got lots of trout!! We fried them twice last week and they were actually pretty tasty!

Cawinsy boy had his first real pool time last Sunday. He loved it! He just floated around in his new pool float.

I think he would have spent all evening in the water!

We have a month til school starts and I'm actually hoping for some lazy days now. We've been so busy and I want some time to hang out at home and enjoy not having any commitments. The boys and I slept in until 9 this morning and it was quite lovely. Bebe and Chandler are coming in town next week and they need to hurry up and get here already!! It's been soooo wonderful to be able to see them so often these past few months. Really since March we haven't gone more than a month without seeing them.

Happy WEEKEND!!!

beach weekend

We headed to the beach last Thursday and had a great extra long weekend! We started off at Shipwreck Island on Friday. Collins stayed with Bebe and Papa and I was able to spend some fun time with my biggest buddy. Camp loved Shipwreck just as much as he loved it last year. He swam, and swam, and swam!!

He loved the water slides...the pirate ship slide was his favorite. It was so much fun to watch him have a blast!! I can't wait for our trip next year! I wonder if Collins will be old enough to go?? If not, I'm sure Bebe and Papa won't mind watching him again!! :)

We got Dippin' Dots to bribe him to go home.  I can't pass up any opportunity for Dippin' Dots!! Yum!

Camp was pretty much asleep the moment we got in the car...

Daddy made it down to the beach Friday after work and we were so glad to see him!! Fred fried fish, shrimp, and scallops for dinner.

Collins's first trip to the Byrdnest needed to be documented! The Byrdnest is one of my favorite places ever...

Chandler and Collins boy!

We spent the rest of our weekend at the Lion's Paw!

Camp, Adam, & Bop Bop fished on Sunday and came home with some yummy fish.

Adam was so proud of Camp and couldn't believe he wanted to spend the whole day out on the boat fishing. He said he would ask Camp if he wanted to go back home and Camp said he just wanted to fish!

Camp keeps talking about being on the boat and what kind of fish they saw and caught. Camp is just like his daddy!

Gunter boys and their catches of the day!

Proud fisherman!

What a fun weekend!

3 months

Collins is three months old today!

He loves to talk to us...I've started having little conversations with him. I'll talk, then he talks. The look on his face when he talks is like he's trying so hard to tell me something!

He's discovered his hands and usually has them in his mouth.

He wears a size 2 diaper and size 6 month clothes.

His eyes seem to be pretty light. They'll probably end up being a very light brown or green, I can't quite tell.

He doesn't particularly care to ride in the car. If it's nap time, he'll sleep, but if not he usually isn't too happy. ;) He cried all but about 10 minutes of our 2 and a half hour ride back from the beach today.

Sleeps from 8pm-6am then usually goes right back down to sleep until 9 or 9:30am.

New nick names this month are Cawinsy Cawinsy Boy (Camp's favorite) or just Cawinsy! :)

He is an extremely sweet and good baby. We are so blessed with this little fella!

Love that smirk!

Woo hoo! I'm three months old!

Happy 3 months Collins boy!!

my boys

Camp and Collins at almost the exact same age! Camp was 4 days shy of 3 months and Collins is 6 days shy of 3 months! :) It's so cute that they're doing the same exact pose!! I think it's fun that they don't look anything alike! Their personalities seem to be very similar though...I will take it!!

Adam and I took this buddy to dinner and a movie tonight. We saw Brave and it was wonderful!! We all loved it. It was sweet to take him out all by himself. When I told him Collins would be staying at home with Yaya, he said he wanted Collins to come with us too! :) Thank you to Yaya for watching the littlest buddy!

Camp playing a dinosaur game I have on my phone...he's obsessed! Camp told me today "I like pterodactyls, they are the best dinosaurs." :)

Camp put this dinosaur on Collins's blanket so he could play with it. :)

Precious, precious boy!!
