We are the Ruffles

I went on a girls trip to Birmingham this weekend. It was the best trip.....everything we did was just perfect and so much fun. Whoever invented girls weekends was a genius! I rode with Holly and Mary and we met Jill and Heather (Holly & Mary's long time friend from Ocala) up there. I've been so excited to meet Heather...we have been reading eachothers blogs and emailing back and forth for a while now. We knew that we would hit it off because we share a common bond.....we have the same middle name.....the best name in the world, Lane!! We got to Birmingham late Friday night.....we planned on going straight to bed, but ended up chit chatting til 2 in the morning!

I brought Cake Shop cupcakes as a surprise and little did I know Mary did the same thing....

Mary had the Cake Shop put our initials on them!

IMG_7911
The Birmingham trip also served as a birthday celebration for Heather & Mary....Cake Shop cupcakes make the best breakfast!

IMG_7915
Saturday afternoon we headed to lunch at Bottega. I ordered Macaroni & Cheese with a side salad. So tasty!

After walking out of Paper Affair, I saw something that might be interesting....the sign read "Yogurt Mountain".....all of my shopping partners quickly agreed that we needed to go check it out. It was the coolest place.....a self serve yogurt and topping bar. You fill up your cup with any or all of the yogurt flavors, get as many toppings as you like, then you take it to the cashier to be weighed. I was so overwhelmed as to what flavor frozen yogurt I should choose!! I ended up with cheesecake, peanut butter, and chocolate frozen yogurts.....then it was off to the toppings. Heath Bar, Reese's, brownies, Rice Krispie Treats, and mini M&M's made the cut.
IMG_7945
A picture of our works of art....the prices ran from $4 to almost $8! Hillary won the prize for the most expensive cup of yogurt, but she's eating for two! :)

After Yogurt Mountain we said our goodbyes to Hillary and headed to The Summit for even more shopping! We hit up Janie & Jack, Williams Sonoma, Ann Taylor, J. Crew, Gap, and Anthropologie. Lets just say we definitely did our part in stimulating the economy! :)

We had a little too much fun in the dressing rooms of Ann Taylor.

Sunday came too soon, but we ate a FABULOUS brunch at Chez Lulu.

The best hot chocolate that I have ever had in my life!! I'd love a cup right now!

We had such a wonderful time. We're already planning our next trip to Birmingham....same weekend, same restaurants! :) (Beth...put it on your calendar NOW!)

Thank you Mama Byrd, Cap, and Auntie Chandler for watching the Camper!!

Adam was also out of town on his own boys weekend......a bachelor party for Clay in New Orleans! :) I think Adam's already working on the blog post recapping his weekend! ;)

Slam Dunk

Adam and I went to the FSU/NC State Basketball game last night. It was the first FSU sporting event that I've attended since I graduated.....sad I know! We had SO MUCH FUN!! The best part of all was that we sat in box seats.....yummy food, adult beverages, comfy atmosphere....Adam and I decided that we want to go to all sporting events sitting in a box! The sweet folks at Capital City Bank invited us to go and they sure showed us a great time. We love Capital City Bank!

We had such a great time despite the fact that FSU didn't pull off the win. We're ready for the next game! :)

The Candy Monster

Adam brought a cooler into the kitchen last night and Camp used it as an accomplice in his candy snatching.....

15 Month Stats

Camp had his 15 month appointment yesterday. Our appointment was right after lunch, but we still had to wait such a long time! We were there for over two hours!
Camp got three shots and only cried for a bit!
I was surprised with his measurements because I was confident that he weighed more than he does!
Weight- 22 lbs. 14 oz. (30th%)
Height- 33 inches (94%)
Head Circumference- 18.9 inches (75%)

I just had to laugh at those percentiles.......is it any question that Camp is just like his daddy? He may look more like me, but he's definitely built like his daddy!

We think Camp's getting his top teeth. He is a drooling machine and keeps biting hard on his paci. Dr. Elzie confirmed that his left top tooth is swollen so hopefully he'll get some relief soon! He also has a cold and I've read that can be a teething symptom too. It's about time for more teeth! :)

Happy Camper

Our friends Dave and Kelly invited us to their hunting camp to spend New Years. They wanted all three of us to join them....I was a little worried about what to expect....especially with a 15 month old. We arrived Wednesday evening and I was pleasantly surprised when I took a look at our living quarters. Adam, Camp, and I stayed in an RV (or I guess technically it was a 5th Wheel) One of my lifelong dreams has been to travel the US in an RV. :) I was so excited to finally get to experience one! After spending three nights and four days in the 5th Wheel, it only made me want to travel in one even more!! I made Adam promise me that one day we could take a trip with one. :)

IMG_7402
Wednesday night wasn't too chilly so we enjoyed the evening by the bonfire....until it started raining. (Adam, Camp, & Dave)

IMG_7404
Camp watching Sesame Street on one of the two channels that we got on tv. (The other channel was CBS...thank goodness I was able to watch the FSU game!)

IMG_7407
This sweet child was in hog heaven. Tractors, combines, trucks, Rangers, open spaces.....I don't think I've seen Camp so happy....and I guess Adam was in hog heaven too! :)

IMG_7424

We celebrated New Year's Eve a little early, 8pm to be exact! We were in bed by 10.

We set off a few fireworks and Camp loved them!

This New Year's blower wasn't quite as easy to use as Daddy's duck call....

So Daddy helped Camp out a bit!

On Friday we set out on an arrowhead hunt. Adam got pretty lucky!

Oh yes, I took a picture of the television. This is history in the making, folks!! Bobby's last game...and an awesome final score!

IMG_7537
Friday night we headed to the neatest place for dinner. A couple recently purchased the old plantation home and turned it into a restaurant.

Saturday morning, the boys got up for some dove hunting.

IMG_7576
They're so cute!

We had a great time with sweet friends and enjoyed the slow pace.

Dave and Kelly actually came back to town with us so Adam could take Dave duck hunting this morning. (They didn't have enough of it from the four days up in Georgia!) We enjoyed extending our visit unexpectedly and were sad to see them go this afternoon! Adam's going back to work tomorrow after a nice long vacation and I think we're both ready to get back into the swing of things! We've had such a busy holiday break, but we're ready to calm down a bit! Our fridge is empty and laundry is piled high, but we've had so much fun!

Happy 2010!
