Little Boy Blue

This is Camp's new face...usually when he does it, he also says "ooooohhhhh".

He kept lifting up his leg because he didn't like the feel of the grass!

Taking some steps to Daddy!

Look at that big boy!!

Labor Day Weekend at the Byrdnest

We just got back from a fabulous weekend at the Byrdnest.
Everyone was there.....Mama Byrd, Cap, Trip, Chandler, and the three of us.
Camp started the weekend with a low fever and it had us worried to pieces. It never got over 101.8 and he didn't seem to miss a beat, but Adam and I were so nervous.

Camp also decided to take a few steps this weekend!! You can tell that he's super proud of himself when he does it. He got up to five steps......he's on his way!

All in all, we had some beautiful weather. It rained a bit on Saturday, but cleared up quickly.

Aunt Vicki and Trey (my cousin) were at the beach too!
Aunt Vicki brought Camp his birthday present because she didn't want him to be overwhelmed at his birthday party. She wanted him to have the present early and enjoy it now! She got him a precious stuffed Salmon and a book about Salmon that she got from the Vancouver Aquarium.

Camp loved them both and was pretty excited about that ribbon and wrapping paper. I'm so excited to see how he reacts to his birthday presents. :)

Brother and sister

Saturday was Trey's 23rd birthday. Chandler and her friend Sarah made him a cake.
Trey was so surprised!
We have a lot of family birthdays in September (Trey (5th), ME! (20th), Nina (10th), Camp (26th), Popsie (28th))

On Sunday we headed to the beach for the day. It was pretty warm with NO breeze.....not my favorite combination, but we had lots of fun.

Camp fell asleep in my arms and I put him under the umbrella to take a little nap.
That sand and sun wiped him out!
What a fun weekend! It's so nice to all be together.

Ladies Man

We had a girls (+ Camp) day up in Thomasville this past weekend.
We ate lunch at Savannah Moon Bakery and enjoyed browsing in all of Thomasville's sweet stores.
sophie, camp, & sally kate
After we finished our lunch and dessert, Camp felt the need to love on Sally Kate.
He would not give it up! If he wasn't kissing her face, he was kissing her arm!
It was the most hysterical thing I think I've ever witnessed.
Poor Sally Kate was a real trooper!

It's so funny how he closes his eyes to kiss....

I don't know where the child learns this stuff!!!

Mary was kind enough to email me these pictures (my camera is being a poopy schmoopy)

Camp's Nursery

Camp is almost a year old and we're still working on his nursery. I've been wanting to put a shelf above his changing table for some time now. The wall was so bare and needed "something".
I saw Mary's post on this and HAD to have her do something similar in Camp's nursery.

Soooo.....she came over this afternoon and worked her magic.

This was the space before...

And this is after!!!
I finished installing the shelf right as Camp was going to bed so I might play around with the pictures and other knick knacks, but I LOVE IT!
It's just the splash we needed.
Now all I want to do is to get three big frames of black and white pictures for the wall above his crib.

Good to the Last Drop

ALL ABOUT CAMP - - 11 MONTHS
  • He can sit up from crawling/lying position.

  • He pulls up on anything and everything.
  • He is a very cautious baby....he rarely falls because he's so careful to hold on to someone or something.

  • He can walk assisted....this is his favorite thing to do.

  • He crawls on all fours and at lightening speed!

  • He'll show us his tongue when we ask him where it is.

  • He'll tilt his head to the side and smile when we ask him if he's cute. :)

  • He signs "all done".

  • He points.

  • He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, and his all time favorite is Baby Einstein.

  • The child still doesn't have any teeth! That "tooth" we thought we saw must have been a figment of our imaginations!

  • He understands "NO" and obeys us quite well.

  • He gives juicy open mouth kisses and says "ahhhh" as he gives them.

  • He would eat cheese and turkey all day if we let him.

  • He's in size 12 months clothes and size 3 diapers
  • He's only eating "people" food and we will begin transitioning to whole milk this month....no more washing bottles!
  • We can't believe that he's going to be ONE in a month.....this precious boy brings us so much joy and we love him so much!

It took me 11 months, but I finally realized how to get Camp to sit still, next to his bear, and look at me........SING!
I sang "I've Been Working on the Railroad" and he sat there and smiled. Ahh.....so the bloopers aren't that funny this month, but it made for a much more enjoyable photo session. :)

I told him to "be a cute boy!"

It looks like he's thinking "Hmmmm I'm going to be getting lots of fun things for my birthday!"

Awww....lovey boy loving on his Beary!

Spring Creek Goodness

We ate lunch at Spring Creek this weekend.
The restaurant was featured in August's issue of Southern Living.
The article mentioned bread and garlic butter and I was sold......I had no idea the restaurant existed, but Adam has read the books.
It was fun to take a mini road trip and enjoy the tasty food.

Camp was such a good boy.....he had his very own meal.
Grilled cheese and french fries!
It definitely kept him occupied. :)

I loooove this picture!!! He's so excited to be on that boat!

The restaurant is tucked away under the beautiful oak trees.....it's very quiet and calm.
The service was great and the food was fantastic.
We'll probably make this a monthly routine!

In other news.....

The munchkin is in his big boy carseat!
I like it...it's a lot easier to get him in an out of, but I can't see him anymore! :(
The carseat is so big!
