Picture Perfect Birthday

I've had such a wonderful birthday!!
Today I turned the big 2-6. There's nothing too exciting about being 26.....but now I'm even closer to 30. YIKES.
Last year at this time I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Camp.
I'm glad he is here now to celebrate my birthdays with me....and I love that our birthdays are so close. Six days apart!
I opened my birthday present from Adam last night. It was burning a hole in his pocket and he couldn't wait.
He was so proud of it and rightly so........it was a Canon Rebel XSI!!!!!!
My poor Olympus has been wrapped in packing tape and on its last leg for a while. It's been an amazing camera though and it was a college graduation present from my mom.
But I've been dreaming about the Rebel for some time now.....and Adam took notice. :)
So needless to say, I spent most of my birthday testing out the new camera.
I still have A LOT to learn, but it's been pretty dang fun playing around with it!

I started the day with a VENTI Pumpkin Spiced Latte.....I didn't even finish half of it, but it was mighty tasty.

I also had a pumpkin muffin filled with cream cheese. I made Adam pause while singing "Happy Birthday" so I could take a picture!

We spent most of the day doing absolutely NOTHING and I loved it.
The only things I wanted to do was go to JoAnn's to get fabric for a camera strap cover and go to Dorothy B. Oven to take pictures.
And that's just what we did!

We had such a nice afternoon walking around. We were the only ones out there for most of the time and it was so peaceful.

Camp was an extremely patient model.
We ventured back to a pond that we had no idea was even there! Adam and I have been to Dorothy B. Oven too many times to count and neither of us had ever seen it before.
There were several little bridges and a dock that made for cute pictures.

So now you all will have to bear with me as I learn my way throughout this awesome camera. But I have a pretty cute subject to photograph and I highly doubt any of you will mind! :)

Thank you to all of my family and friends for making this day so very special!

Sweet

Camp loves chocolate......he doesn't eat it often, but when he gets a little taste, he goes crazy!
I guess he gets that from me.

I didn't eat any chocolate!

Camp's First Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Camp's first birthday last night. His real birthday isn't until September 26th, but we tried to work around everyones schedule so we could have as many people as possible celebrate the precious boy's birthday!
We had almost 40 people at our house and it was a blast! I think Camp had the most fun....

The food was so tasty! My mom made sausage stars and they were a HUGE hit! I'll post the recipe soon because I think every single person at the party asked for it!

Cake Shop cake.....primary colors with a splash of puppy!
The Cake Shop was able to draw the puppy from the birthday invitation. I thought it turned out precious!

Party favors

Elsa and Camp. Camp sure loves the ladies!

Enjoying black beans, watermelon, and cheese!

Cake time!!

Camp did not disappoint! He had so much fun eating his cake.

Barrett was able to get in on the cake action too!

Camp's new 'silly' face!

Sophie & Camp loving on eachother.

Camp came inside after eating his cake and discovered that he had lots of presents to open!

Camp wanted to play with everything instead of opening more presents.
He opened his Tow Mater truck first and couldn't really be bothered with anything else! He loves that thing! Thanks Meg, Billy, Ginny & Trey!

Lollie and Popsie got Camp this awesome tractor and trailer with farm animals. It drives across the floor and makes animal noises. Camp loves this too!!

I forgot to put Camp's birthday hat on when he ate his cake so we decided to put it on him while he opened his presents.

He got so many wonderful things! I think I might pack half of his gifts up and bring them out in a few months!

Bless his heart....everytime we stop pushing the car, he'll break out in hysterics. He wants to keep moving.

Now on to the cool dump truck from the Meyer family....and wearing his new hat and t-shirt from Uncle Trip!

It's hard for me and Adam not to get a little touch of sadness as Camp hits this 1st birthday milestone. We can't believe how fast this year has gone by....it really just seems like we were bringing him home from the hospital. I can't say it enough, but he is the best baby. We are so blessed to have him and we are looking forward to the new memories and milestones of his 2nd year!
WE LOVE YOU PRECIOUS CAMPER!
Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Camp's birthday! He has so many people that love and care about him.
And special thanks to my mom and Fred for all of their help before, during, and after the party!

Happy 90th, Nina!!

We just got back from a lovely evening in Thomasville. We went to The Plaza Restaurant to celebrate Nina's (Fred's mom) 90th birthday! So many friends and family were in attendance and I know she was thrilled to have everyone there for this exciting occasion!

Vicki, Fred, & The Birthday Girl

Yummy 12 layer yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Camp ate most of my mom's piece of cake and all of Fred's. He's getting practice for his cake eating extravaganza tomorrow evening!!

I dressed Camp in a beautiful smocked jon jon....he looked precious.
Right before dinner, Camp had a poopy schmoopy blowout....got all over his outfit.
And you know what? I did not have ANY change of clothes for the poor child. My mom and I stood in the bathroom of the Plaza laughing hysterically at my naked baby and had no idea what to do!! I looked out the window and saw a Rite Aid across the street and thought I might get lucky.
I ran to the baby aisle.....I saw blankets, washcloths, and bibs. No article of clothing!
I finally found a rack of souvenir t-shirts and I got lucky with this "Someone in Thomasville, GA Loves Me" onesie. How awesome that they had his size!!! :)
I learned two lessons tonight:
1. NEVER BUY CHEAP DIAPERS (I learned this lesson a few months ago, but still have a pack of CVS Ultra Thins in the closet that I wanted to use up.)
2. ALWAYS PACK A CHANGE OF CLOTHES! (This precious onesie will now serve as Camp's change of clothes and it will never leave the diaper bag. The child has not had a diaper malfunction in MONTHS and I can't even tell you the last time I've had to change his diaper in public....)

But Camp never missed a beat. Here is playing peek-a-boo with a napkin......see all that cake smeared on his face??

Me, Nina, Adam, and Camp in his Rite Aid couture.

Oooohhh and I'm going to have to say that my hubby was lookin' mighty fine tonight!
