catch up

It’s been a busy two weeks for the Gunter family!! We spent Mother’s Day weekend at the beach then came home just long enough to repack for another Disney adventure! We’ve had lots of fun and of course I took a lot of pictures!

This post will be all about Mother's Day weekend and a few days before...

Camp's class had a sweet Mother's Day tea for all of the mommies in the class...I loved all of my goodies handmade by Camp.

We had mini muffins, fruit, tea and orange juice...

Thursday evening (cinco de mayo!) was spent at Yaya & Bop Bop's where we enjoyed a fabulous Mexican dinner complete with yummy dip made by Carrie Anne and tasty margaritas!

We headed to the beach on Friday...

Daddy & Camp snuggled up on everyone's favorite chair watching a movie...

On Saturday we headed out on the boat to enjoy the beautiful day!

Adam caught a few fish...

and Camp was able to take a nice long nap! :)

We anchored up at the point, fished, explored and had lots of fun!

Camp was wiped out after such a fun day!

Camp woke me up Mother's Day morning and said "SURPRISE!!! It's for you!" holding a present. He was so cute and so excited for me to open it. He spent the entire weekend saying "Happy Munner's Day" and will still say it because Adam and I always make such a big fuss when he says it...he sounds so cute!

When we got home, we noticed a lot of the veggies in our garden were ready to be picked...we had a fresh salad, roasted potatoes, and fried fish (caught by adam only the day before!)

Everything on this plate was either caught or grown by us and it was such a special treat!!

celebrations

We've had a busy weekend full of lots of celebrations! We started early Friday watching the royal wedding. I got up with Adam and don't think I've voluntarily woken up that early in a loooong time! The wedding was beautiful and perfect and I've enjoyed watching the specials recapping the blessed event at any chance I get! :) I had no idea I'd be so captivated, but it's been nice to see something so happy and lighthearted in the press. Camp watched some of the wedding with me and now every time we see Kate on TV or in a magazine he'll say "dere da princess!!"

 

On Saturday I continued in the wedding spirit and attended another bridal shower for Mary.

Only six more weeks until Mary & David tie the knot!

On Sunday, Camp had two birthday parties to attend...he's quite the little socialite these days!

We started at Avery's 2nd birthday party...

Camp was happy to see the bounce house and spent most of his time in here! :)

He had a blast!!

I think a bounce house is a must at his 3rd birthday party!

After Avery's party, we headed to Barrett's 4th birthday party!!

The child obviously does not have my fear of balloons! :)

The three of us came home exhausted, but we had a great day!

eggcitement

Easter 2011

Camp and I dyed eggs on Saturday. I bought a set of Lightning McQueen dyes a few days after Easter last year for 75% off and planned on using them for this year. I put the dyes in the cups, added the vinegar and nothing happened...the little tablets never dissolved! :( So much for planning ahead and saving money! Soooo I improvised and used gel food coloring, lemon juice and water! I was pretty proud of myself for creating my own Easter egg dyes and they worked perfectly!

This was the first year I attempted dyeing eggs with Camp and he really enjoyed it!

Watching the eggs very closely...his favorite color is orange!

They turned out pretty cute, right?

The blue was the prettiest!

Camp had had enough of me taking pictures and started saying "no more pictures uh me!!"

Then he said "eggs are not beautiful' :) hahah...

Oh yes, he's my child...smelling the eggs! :)

The rest of the day, Camp kept saying "Eggs are so beautiful"

Easter morning, we discovered that the Easter bunny had left Camp lots of goodies!

After egg hunting, we all got dressed and headed to a lovely church service.

After church we headed to Easter dinner! I really didn't take many pictures yesterday, but I can only do so much! :)

At least we got a sweet family picture!

Camp enjoyed his little cousin, Nate and was so sweet to him. Camp looooooooves babies and is always so gentle. Nate and Camp are 15 months apart and it won't be long before Barrett, Camp, and Nate will all seem like the same age! I'm sure they'll have lots of fun together!! :)

We had a wonderful Easter and hope you did too!

beach trip & egg hunt

Camp and I headed to the Byrdnest last weekend to join Bebe & Chandler for a few days of Chandler's spring break. We don't pass up any opportunity to go to the beach (or to see Bebe & Chandler for that matter!) The night before we left, I decided to make some Easter sugar cookies to take down.

I love these cookie cutters...they are also great for making shaped sandwiches!

Camp even helped me!

Then he pretended the rolling pin was a gun...boys will be boys!! :)

The weather was just perfect at the beach!

We spent some time on the beach, watched lots of Lifetime movies and even headed to PSJ for a yummy dinner complete with Marge & Ritas ;) at Peppers.

We had such a fun few days!

Camp had his Easter party at school yesterday...

I helped hide the eggs for the party and stayed to watch the egg hunt in action...all of the kiddies were so cute!

They were supposed to put all of the eggs they found in one big basket so the eggs could be split up and shared equally. All of the children did such a great job!

Camp really understood the whole egg hunt thing this year. He was so cute trying to find the eggs.
