happy birthday!

Yesterday was Adam's 28th birthday. He said he didn't want to do anything out of the ordinary...no going out to dinner, no party...he just wanted a normal night at home and some cake shop cupcakes! :)
I wanted to do a little something special so I made Adam's favorite dinner...philly cheese steaks and sweet potato fries. I also invited Yaya, Bop Bop, Carrie Anne, & Dave over last minute for birthday dessert!

Adam's gifts along with the dinosaur balloon Camp picked out for him!

Camp was so excited to give Adam his gifts!! It was pretty sweet!

Of course, he helped open the gifts as well!

Camp lost interest when he saw that the exciting gift was a pair of Columbia shorts, but Adam was sure thrilled!

I made chocolate chip pie to go along with the cupcakes!! Yummy!

Camp loves to help blow out the candles!

Happy Birthday to the best husband and father in the whole wide world!!!!!

backyard bbq

We had a backyard bbq couples shower for Mary & David at our house on Saturday. Adam and I hosted it with five other couples and I think the party was a huge success!!
We were in charge of preparing the pulled pork and grilled chicken. Adam set up shop Friday afternoon and smoked boston butts until midnight!! It was definitely quite the undertaking, but they turned out fabulous and everyone raved about the tasty pulled pork!
Smokin' away!

I also put together a few decorations with the color scheme from the invites

I picked these from our yard and loved the way this turned out!

I purchased burlap to make a table cloth and used the leftover along with some scrap fabric to make this bunting.

Grady made the tastiest boiled peanuts I've ever had!! They were a huge hit and definitely an awesome appetizer to serve.

Thank you card sketched by Mary...I love love love it!! Me in my wrap dress carrying a plate of freshly baked cupcakes and Adam wearing his CCLC shirt holding a fishing pole...does she know us or what??
She also gave the hosts beautiful tassels from Kathryn Glass Designs

we had fried pickles as another appetizer...sooo good!

the twelve hosts with the honorary couple!

cake shop cupcakes for dessert!

adam grilling the chicken wings...

the table with all of the food set out...macaroni & cheese (soooooo tasty and made by sidney...i need the recipe!) asian slaw, pulled pork, and grilled chicken wings. delish!

The hosts/hostesses gave Mary & David a Happy Everything plate!!
Mary was pretty pleased! ;)

Thanks to the Bruces, Campbells, Edenfields, Meadows, & Pattons for helping us throw such a fun party!!!!

And congrats again to the future Mr. & Mrs. David Mica, Jr!! :)
 Only three more months!!

lots o' pictures

a little st. patrick's themed title for ya!

I've had most of these pictures uploaded to this blog post for a week now...at a loss for words!
Yaya said she only wants to see the pictures anyway and I'm sure most people feel the same so I'm going to let most of the pictures do the talking...

February seemed to fly right by!! Now it's March...a month filled with lots of birthdays and celebrations!
Yesterday was Bebe's birthday!! Happy Birthday to Bebe!

Camp's really into dinosaurs these days...he learned about dinosaurs while we were at Disney and I think his fascination started out as fear! :) He's all into Nick Jr's Dino Dan...thank goodness for On Demand!

His new favorite movie is Bolt.

On Sunday I made Mickey pancakes and Camp couldn't have been happier!

I love Shake 'n Pour Bisquick...I add a dash of cinnamon and vanilla and the pancakes are perfect! I like that I can put the leftover batter in the fridge for a few more days for easy weekday pancake breakfasts!

Camp and I had a picnic lunch yesterday...the weather was just a little chilly, but we had a great time! He thought it was pretty exciting to sit on his Mater and Ye Car (Lightning McQueen) blanket and eat his lunch!

He's on a turkey sandwich kick (specifically Subway turkey subs!) and he'll eat the whole 6" sub by himself!

Sweet little shoes!
