A Few Good Things

It doesn't take much to make me happy.
There are lots of things that I'm happy about at the moment. :)
One being this sweet note from my husband. I woke up one morning last week to let the dogs out and looked up to find this sweet message. He's learning that little gestures like this go a loooonnnngg way. :)

I'm about 90% finished with my first outfit for Camp. It wasn't as hard as I was expecting and I'm sure the more I make them, the easier they will be.

I have discovered my new favorite Coffee Mate flavor. My all time favorite is Pumpkin Spice, but it's seasonal. :( The next best thing was Cinnamon Bun, but when I made my Coffee Mate run last week, Cinnamon Bun was nowhere to be found. I've had bad luck with random flavors in the past. (Tiramisu tastes like plastic and Cinnamon Vanilla Cream is so cinnamony that it makes me sweat) So I was pretty pleased to score with this choice.

Our Hydrangeas are finally blooming! They are sooooo gorgeous!! We have tons of blooms too.
I can't wait to cut them and put them in vases around the house.
Mary...if you're lucky, I'll share some with you.

The little buddy is learning to hold his bottle on his own. He's getting two bottles a day now so he's getting more practice. Sweet boy.

Our friends Dave & Kelly got this wonderful book for Camp. We both LOVE it! It makes noises when you open the flaps and it keeps Camp's attention. We read it four times last night before he went to bed.

I've discovered pre made mashed sweet potatoes. I just put them into this beautiful casserole dish, added a sprinkle of cinnamon & brown sugar, and topped with marshmallows. Tastes just like homemade!
Sandra Lee would be proud.
Danielle and I took the babies to Thomasville on Monday. We had a great lunch and had fun shopping in the many cute shops that Thomasville has to offer. We didn't buy a thing!! But saw lots of things we would buy if we had money to blow. I saw this old sign and had to take a picture of it. Buster Brown isn't there anymore, but the sign is. I love it!!

And last but not least, my mom's new Portmeirion plate made me smile. It's a new addition to her collection. She had the table set for Mother's Day and Chandler tried to sit down at this plate. I told her that she better get up because I was sitting at that plate! She thought I was ridiculous. :)
Camp and I are about to hit the pool.....and that makes me super happy too!!!
Happy Hump Day!

Uh Oh!

Looks like it's time to lower Camp's mattress!
I knew he sounded a little too occupied after he woke up from his nap!

My First Mother's Day

I love this precious boy that made me a mother.
I love watching him grow and learn.
He makes me laugh and he already makes me so proud.
I've said this before, but he makes being a mama so easy.

And he is pretty darn cute.
I love you so much, Camp!!

Fun in the Sun

We got in the baby pool for the first time today. I refilled the water this morning and by 1pm it was already warm enough to get in. It's HOT outside! Camp and I had so much fun. He splashed and played with his toys. We'll be doing this everyday!

Camp got a little brave and started to pull himself up on the side of the pool. I didn't think he'd actually be able to pick himself up so I just sat there and watched. Next thing I knew, he was tumpled over onto the deck. Yikes. He didn't even get upset...it probably scared me more than it did him!
And then he tried it again....but I was a little more prepared this time and he didn't fall over.

Ooohhh I love that little Crunchkin!!!!

I took this picture the other day when Camp and I went to play with Danielle and Sophie. Camp was really enjoying Sophie's new exersaucer and Sophie had fun going underneath to play too! The first time she did this she went right between Camp's legs. We were hoping she would do it again so I could get a picture, but no such luck. These little babies are just too funny!

Happy Birthday Trip!

Happy Birthday Trip! We love you!

And here is your favorite picture of the Crunchkin.

We can't wait for you to graduate so we can see you ALL THE TIME! :)
Have a great day!!

Yummy BBQ

We've discovered the yummiest BBQ place!! It's in the old JB's BBQ....on 319 on the way to Thomasville.

Camp loves their lemons.

It ain't fancy, but it's sure tasty! We've gone twice in one week....if that says anything!!

Adam's really excited because he's going to be able to use this restaurant as bribery to get me to go to Cairo with him. :)

And you get a free meal on your birthday!

Try it out!

Big Boy

He looks like such a big boy sitting on his stool. You can see in both pictures he's in the middle of waving!

Look at this!
It's our very own baby pool! It's been sitting on the back porch since Sunday....trying to warm up. The weather has been overcast and it rained on and off all day today. So needless to say, we haven't tested it out yet.

Dancing Machine

Is it any wonder that Camp's dancing already? Poor boy didn't stand a chance with a mama like me! I'm sure he'll be singing early too....haha. We're thinking the nodding while Adam whistled was a form of dancing....although he still nods when music isn't being played.
We noticed this dancing about a week ago when we were out to lunch. The restaurant was playing smooth jazz and Camp sure took a liking to it. He danced the whole meal. :) He also waved to the waitress....I shrieked in the middle of the restaurant and had a little tear in my eye. Isn't it crazy how proud you can be of your children....just for waving to the waitress?? This little munchkin amazes me everyday.

Bootylicious & Hannah Montana

Look at that little booty sticking up in the air. I love him.

Rachel Grace & Camp at the shop

I took this sweet girl to see the Hannah Montana movie today.
Is it ok to admit that I thought it was excellent???!!!
I've always been a huge fan of Hannah's.....I mean I drove EIGHT hours to see her in concert.
But really, the movie was great.
Julie (RG's mom) watched Camp and the two of us had a blast.

Arch

My mom, Fred, Camp, and I drove up to Thomasville on Thursday to see Nina. But first, we stopped off at the cemetery to see Arch's headstone. It wasn't up the last time Adam and I visited.

I still can't believe he's gone.
We talk about him all the time. All of his funny stories....the way he called Adam "The Thing" and then "Alan". :)

We also stopped off at 102 Tucwal. The roses were gorgeous and Arch would have been so proud of them.
At the young age of 92, he was still push mowing his yard, taking trips to Lowe's and searching for signets on his cell phone. :)
He was diagnosed with cancer December 4th and passed away three short weeks later on Christmas morning.
We all miss him so much.
He was an amazing man and I am so lucky that I had him in my life.

Do You Know What Grows?

My handsome husband does!!

Adam is now an FNGLA Certified Horticulture & Landscape Professional. I am so proud of him!

Congratulations, Adam!!!

Rub a Dub Dub

I let Camp take a bath outside last night. He had a blast! He's starting to really enjoy bath time now that he can sit up. He splashes everywhere and plays with his toys. We might start taking his baths outside from now on!

I'm hoping to get him a big baby pool sometime this week. After seeing how much he enjoyed his outside bath, I know he'll enjoy a baby pool. I would like to get one big enough for me or Adam to get into as well. I bought this little number at the Dollar Store last summer, but obviously didn't take a gander at the measurements.
I wouldn't be able to fit my big toe into this one!

Wow. Seven months crept up on me! Doesn't it seem like I just did Camp's six month pictures?? Yikes. He's getting so big so fast!
ALL ABOUT CAMP --- SEVEN MONTHS
  • He's sitting up to play, in the high chair, and in the shopping cart.
  • He's getting up on all fours and rocking.
  • He's "smelling the flowers" and will do it after we do it.
  • We think he's starting to wave. (He's definitely waving. Mary came over tonight and he waved to her!)
  • He does not like when we leave the room.
  • He loves food and we call him a chow hound. He's even eating some big boy foods such as, bananas and Cheerios. He has tried guacamole and LOVES that too!!
  • I'm still nursing.
  • He likes to kick and can turn on his Baby Einstein mirror in the car. He likes to kick a lot when I'm changing his diaper and getting him dressed too!
  • We still love him more than anything in the whole world!!!!!!
