Adam, Camp, and I headed to the fishing pond the other day to do a little fishing. We are trying to cherish these last ten weeks of us just being a family of three. I know we will create so many wonderful memories as a family of four, but this time with just Camp is so special! We all had a great time and when we got in the truck to go home, Camp said "that was a wonderful day!!"

I took lots of pictures and I couldn't just pick a few to post, so enjoy our fabulous day in pictures!

I've attempted to write this blog post for the last five days or so...I'm just going to have to wrap it up and get it posted because I refuse to only post twice in the month of January! :)

Camp has always been a sweet, sweet boy, but he's getting even sweeter as he gets older. I figured I'd do a little update on the fun things he says and does these days...just so I don't forget! Camp's love language is definitely words of affirmation. He tells us all day long that he loves us, that he likes our eyes, that I'm a sweet mama, etc. His latest thing is "Mommy, I think I love you soooo much" When I ask him how he got to be so cute, he'll respond with "Because I love you so much" :)

He's becoming very interested in his baby brother. He likes to come up with names...the newest choices are Braxton, Mack, and Chance (all of which are not on our list!) We talk about how he used to be in my tummy and now his baby brother is...a few weeks ago he said "I don't want to go back in your tummy!!" :) Today, though, he asked if he could go back in my tummy. He loves feeling his brother kick and roll around...Camp thinks it's pretty cool! He's been such a big helper helping me clean all of our baby gear. He even told me that he wants to change his baby brother's diaper. I have a feeling Camp is going to be a great big brother!!

He's always been so observant and he continues to as he gets older...Adam said he's glad that Camp has my sense of direction! We'll go somewhere only once and knows how to get there again. He'll know when it's time to turn and he'll tell me to turn on my blinker. :) He remembers the littlest details and his memory always amazes me!

He loves to listen to his kiddie music CD in the car. I'll be listening to my favorite radio show and he'll ask me to turn on his songs...I really, really don't want to, but then I realize, he won't be three forever and someday I'll wish that I had him in the back seat asking me to turn on his music...so I always do!! His favorite songs are "wheels on the bus", "shake my sillies out", "bingo", really every song is his favorite! I catch him singing them all the time! His favorite grown up song at the moment (and has been for some time) is "keep me in mind" by zac brown band.

Since Christmas he'll say "Happy Holidays!" after he says good night to us or goodbye to someone. He'll ask me "Is it not Halloween anymore?" and " Is it not Christmas time anymore?" and what holiday season it is at the moment. :) He's so excited for Valentine's and asks me almost daily if it's Valentine's Day yet...he says he wants to make cookies for his friends.

He quotes movie lines constantly...just last night as I was putting the toothpaste on his toothbrush he said, "more please, it's free right??" I thought it was hilarious and then he said that's what Mater says! :) While we lived at Yaya & Bop Bop's we watched Peter Pan about 30 times a day...Adam and I pretty much had to ban it because it was starting to realllly drive us crazy! He quotes that movie all of the time, but our favorite is when he says "Poor Nana, out there all alone". He sounds just like Michael and Adam and I think it's about the cutest thing ever so Camp says it a lot. :)

Adam and I had our conference with Camp's preschool teacher yesterday...we were so proud to hear that our little Camper is a sweet boy at school. His teacher told us we're doing something right. :) She said he's a great friend, shares, listens well and is soooo happy at school. It's so nice to hear stuff like that coming from someone not related to us! Haha!

Last week, Adam brought some plants home to plant in our back yard.

Camp put them in his Gator and Adam told him where they needed to go!

Friday night we enjoyed our new fire pit.

Camp loved helping his Daddy get the wood and keep the fire burning. We've been using scrap pieces of wood from our floors and it burns awesome!

Saturday night we grilled burgers...I've said it before and I'll say it again, Adam makes the best burgers!!

I spent allllll of Saturday organizing Camp's room. I ended up throwing away two bags of toys and getting all of the baby toys out of Camp's room and into baby's room. With his toys scattered in a million places while we had to move out, it's so nice to have his room set up and his toys all ready to be played with!

Today was Camp's first day of soccer practice...we were supposed to bring a drink and a soccer ball.

I had one excited boy on my hands! We've been counting down the days!

the hardest part was trying to remember not to pick up the ball with his hands! :)

Camp did not want to leave soccer practice...he would have stayed out there all night! His coach was Adam's coach when he was younger and Chandler's coach when she was in preschool! :)

When Adam got home from work today, he had lots of ducks to clean from the last weekend of duck season...Trip came over at the wrong time and got roped into cleaning the ducks as well! :)

This boy was one happy camper hanging out with his daddy and his uncle...he came inside and told me he needed a pocket knife so he went through our silverware drawer and got a spreader to help him clean ducks.

Can't believe tomorrow is February 1st!!!

Last Saturday we headed to the Campbell's for dinner...Camp and Avery had lots of fun playing. Camp said Avery is his favorite because she doesn't push and because she is happy. :)

We are finally moved back in to our house! We officially moved back in on Saturday, but the final touches were finished this morning. It's now 100% finished (and beautiful) and we couldn't be happier!! Yaya, Bop Bop and Dave were a huge help getting us all moved back in since I'm not much help with the heavy lifting. :) We are so excited to be back in, but this little buddy is probably the happiest! He sure missed his back yard and all of his toys. He's been saying "I'm so glad to be back in our house!" :)

Sweet boy got a pair of Georgia boots for his birthday and he loooooves them. He can put them on all by himself, but he usually puts them on the wrong feet...this picture was taken by Camp and I just love it.

Here's a sneak peak of our new floors (and Camp running away from me while I tried to take his picture!)...we are absolutely in love. We went back and forth on what kind of wood/stain/size we wanted, but ended up going with #2 red oak with clear polyurethane. They turned out even better than we imagined. Travis Greene with Magnolia Hardwood Floors installed them and he did an amazing job...he's sooo great to work with!! We ended up changing our paint colors and we're so pleased with the way that turned out as well! We had some great people working on our house and they all did a great job...our trim carpenter was awesome, but took his time (which is a good thing!), but we joked that Yaya was paying him to go slow! :) She and Bop Bop didn't want us to leave! We are thankful that we had such a comfortable place to stay while our home was turned into a construction site!

We've been a little out of our routine with the holidays and our house looking like this...

(sooo glad that laminate floor is no more!)

we're doing a few remodeling projects and our house is just a tad uninhabitable... :)

we're so thankful yaya and bop bop have agreed to put us up for a while.

After a successful morning of duck hunting...only three more weekends of duck season left! Not that I'm keeping track or anything!! :)

Yesterday, Yaya, Camp, and I headed to Wakulla Springs for a tasty lunch and a fun boat ride!

Camp had a blast!

He said seeing the alligators was his favorite...we saw lots of birds, turtles, alligators and manatees!

I'm almost to my 3rd trimester (where has the time gone??) and still feeling wonderful...I'm loving being pregnant this time of year! :) Baby boy STILL doesn't have a name...we keep changing our minds and can't commit just yet. I took my glucose test last week and passed with flying colors...woo hoo!! I need to take another picture of my ever growing baby belly!!

2011 in review

2011 was a great year!!

Looking through these pictures it seems that the year just flew by!!

In January, I headed to Birmingham with some of my favorites.

Ruffles for life.

In February, we headed to Disney for Camp's first visit and had an absolute blast!!!

In March, we headed to Blue Ridge to surprise Fred for his 60th birthday!

In April, "Daddy shot a turkey he go pow pow pow"

In May, Camp finished his first year of preschool. What a sweet and special year that was!

In June, Adam and I celebrated 5 years of wedded bliss and Mary & David got married!

In July, we spent lots and lots of time at the beach!

In August, we were soooo excited to find out that we were expecting another sweet baby!

In September, Camp turned 3 with a pirate birthday party.

In October, we had a fun Halloween complete with a hayride for trick-or-treating.

In November, we found ourselves back in Blue Ridge for a wonderful Thanksgiving with lots of family.

In December, we had a fabulous Christmas season with all of our family and friends...it's the most wonderful time of the year!!

Here's hoping 2012 is just as great as 2011!!!

and speaking of Christmas songs, Camp requests Christmas music every time we get in the car...his favorite channel is Holly on xm radio. If I try to change the station, he makes sure to tell me to turn it back to Christmas music and to "turn it on louder".

A few days before Christmas, we had a family bbq at Yaya & Bop Bop's...Camp was one happy boy playing with his favorite friend, Barrett!

Camp had the best time sitting in his duck blind while Dave flew the duck. Camp would shoot the duck down almost every single time...he's a good shot!

What a wonderful Christmas filled with family and lots of fun. We thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the magic of Christmas through Camp's eyes. We are truly blessed.

Bebe and Chandler just left after spending four fabulous days with us in Tallahassee. It was such a special treat and we were sad to see them leave, but they're meeting Papa in ATL (he's flying home from work today) and heading to a tropical location for Christmas!! :)

We've been busy little elves around here...

Camp's already put out food for the reindeer...two days early!

I'm sure Santa's reindeer will be so happy to enjoy a special treat from the Gunters!

The breakfast casserole is prepared and in the fridge ready for Christmas morning breakfast!

And all the gifts are assembled and wrapped! This year, we were smart to assemble gifts before Christmas Eve night. Bebe and I were up until 11:30 last night attempting to assemble this garage for Camp. We got as far as we could until we realized we needed a smaller screwdriver. Thankfully, Trip brought one over this morning and it's completely assembled and ready to go!! :) I sure wish Santa would bring his gifts fully assembled...this garage was a doozy!

christmastime and a pregnancy update

We saw Santa last week and Camp was about the cutest thing ever telling him what he wanted for Christmas. Lately, if we ask Camp to do something and he doesn't really feel like doing it he'll say "I can't want to get presents" meaning the whole "Santa only brings presents to little boys that listen" phrase isn't going to work on him at the moment!

We got the Target Christmas toy catalog in the mail over a month ago, but Camp has had the best time looking through it picking out his favorite toys. Every time he sees something he wants (which is pretty much every toy he sees) he'll say "I want that for my birthday!!" if it's a girly thing he'll say "Mommy, do you want that for your birthday?"

Camp had his Christmas program at preschool on Wednesday...

Although he didn't really sing any songs, I was just thankful he didn't cry and run off stage when he saw his adoring fans out in the audience!! :)

He looked so cute up there and even waved to Carrie Anne and Dave! :)

The child is almost a head taller than everyone in his class!! :)

My dad and Meri came to town last week to bring lots of Christmas presents! Camp loved all of the goodies they brought!

He got a tool set with real tools! No plastic baby toys for this boy! The set included a pair of gloves just like Daddy and Bop Bop so Camp can help fill the fireplace with firewood. Camp has already filled our fireplace with wood and it's just ready for a roaring fire!! :)

He's such a silly boy!!

I made Rudolph cookies for Camp's school snack on Friday...thank you to Pinterest for the inspiration!! :) If you're going to make these, make sure to put the pretzels in the cookie right after they get out of the oven. Don't waste any time! :) Put the m&m's in right after the pretzels...the cookies need to still be warm!

I used these pretzels because I knew they'd be smaller than the typical chocolate covered pretzels...they worked perfectly!

I also made these Santa hat pretzels and I thought they turned out pretty cute too! Camp was so excited for his Christmas snack and told his teachers as he walked into his class yesterday that he brought "reindeers cookies for snack!"

I'm 22.5 weeks pregnant...feeling great and surprised at how fast this pregnancy is flying by! I guess that's what happens when you have a three year old running around. I'm feeling baby boy move allll the time and I love it. Adam and Camp have gotten to feel him move too. We still don't have a name for him, but we have a few that we both like and I'm hoping we narrow it down soon! Camp thought that "sister" was a cute name and now when we ask what we should name the baby he'll say Hayes. :)

Camp has been enjoying my baby belly as a pillow. :)

We're already in the Christmas spirit and having lots of fun!! Everything is so exciting for Camp...this is a fun age!

We decorated our Christmas tree and Camp put the star on top!

I bought a gingerbread man decorating kit and Camp thought it was pretty cool!

We made our annual trip to Dorothy B. Oven and I'm so glad we went early this year. We beat the crowds and that's one more thing checked off our tradition list!! There's always so much I want to do, but there never seems to be enough time to do it!

What a fabulous Thanksgiving we had!! Adam, Camp, and I headed to Blue Ridge to spend Thanksgiving week with Bebe, Papa, & Chandler. My Aunt Becky, Uncle Bill, and Grandma were also there from CT. We had such a fun and festive time up in the mountains and it was sure hard to leave!

november happenings

Last Friday, Bebe & Papa were in Thomasville to get a few things out of storage. Trip, Camp, and I headed up to spend the day with them and enjoy some yummy lunch at Jonah's!

Mmmm...my favorite lunch place. We were so bummed that they were out of their pumpkin cheesecake! :( We'll just have to go back real soon!

On Tuesday, Camp and I headed to the Junior Museum.

BOY!!!!

We are beyond excited!! We had the big ultrasound this morning and baby boy looks healthy and perfect. I just laid on that table watching our sweet baby with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I couldn't be happier and I'm so glad Camp is going to have a brother. Adam and I both were thinking it was a girl and we were sure surprised (although I did have a dream last night it was a boy!). Adam is over the moon and was definitely pulling for a boy...he said he's so excited to be able to say "me and my boys" Now we just need to come up with a name! :) We cannot wait to meet our 2nd little guy in five short months!!!

On Friday, Holly, Sally Kate, Camp, and I loaded up the car and headed to Birmingham to visit Mary & David. Birmingham is one of my favorite cities...it has all of the perks of a big city (wonderful restaurants, great shopping, lots to do) but it doesn't feel like a big city. It's soooo very charming and the traffic isn't bad!! :)

Friday night, we headed to Davenport's Pizza for some yummmmmy pizza and free bubblegum!! :)

Saturday morning, we headed to the Birmingham Zoo...Camp was obsessed with the roosters and tried to chase the poor things around the zoo.

We spent some time around the petting zoo before it opened, but we were able to sneak in some pets...this llama wasn't too thrilled that Camp touched him and he tried to spit at us! :)

We saw lots of fun animals...giraffes, monkeys, an elephant...

and our favorite was the lion family...the mama, daddy, and babies put on a great show for us and Camp loved watching them play.

After the zoo, we headed to Zoe's for a yummy lunch, visited Mary's adorable shop, and hit up Dreamcakes bakery.

Camp enjoyed a mini cupcake.

For dinner we headed to Saw's BBQ right across the street from where Mary and David live. It definitely ranks up there with Fox Bros. Camp loved the fact that we could walk to dinner and asked if we were going to walk to lunch the next day! :)

On our way back to Tallahassee we passed by Sweet P's and decided we needed to check it out. It was the cutest little store with cupcakes, cookies, ice cream and even a deli. If you're ever travelling between Troy & Montgomery, stop by!!

They had a swing that Camp and Sally Kate were a little too small for, but they both had a blast running around and letting some energy out for the rest of our road trip home.

halloween weekend

Friday night, we headed to Faith's Trunk or Treat...

Camp quickly got the hang of it and ended up with some yummy treats!

On Saturday we carved our pumpkin...this year I bought one of those carving kits with templates. It was definitely easier to carve than with a kitchen knife, but the carving tools they give you are pretty flimsy...definitely disposable! :)

Camp really got into carving the pumpkin. He chose the ghost template and he was pretty pleased with the way it turned out. He would ask several times a day to go out on the front porch and see our pumpkin.

On Sunday, we headed to the woods...Camp thought he was pretty cool with this on!

Adam wanted to put up a deer stand and Camp followed Adam everywhere he went...

On Monday, Camp had his Halloween parade at school...I hid behind my camera so he wouldn't see me! :)

At the very end of the parade I came out of hiding and this is right after Camp spotted me!

Last Thursday, Camp and I headed to Blue Ridge to see Bebe & Chandler (we were so sad that Papa had to go back to work just the day before )

They've moved into their beautiful new home and I was so excited to check it out...this view is enough for me, but their house is just as gorgeous!

We dined at Taqueria del Sol, Friday night. It was sooooooo tasty and I've been craving their fried chicken tacos ever since.

Saturday, we ate dinner at one of my favorite places, JCT Kitchen. I had the sweet onion and fontina agnolotti, the fall version of the sweet corn and goat cheese filled pasta that I got when I went to JCT Kitchen with Beth in March of 2010. I dream about that pasta daily, but this fall version was mighty tasty as well!! We also had their pimento cheese appetizer and it was delish!!

Sunday morning we headed to Canoe for brunch (are you seeing a trend in these ruffle getaways? We plan our trips around the food!!!)

The new Halloween wreath I made this year...I saw lots of wreaths like this on Pinterest, but in black...I figured the orange would look pretty cute against our black door. I love the way it turned out...very funky, but fun!!

I made the tastiest cake a few weekends ago...the best part was the pumpkin spice buttercream. Oh my, it was soooo good! I brought it over to Yaya & Bop Bop's for a cookout and everyone loved it.

Camp heard it was Della's (Yaya & Bop Bop's black lab) birthday so he wanted to bring candles for the cake so we could sing to Della...

We'd almost inhaled the entire cake when Camp reminded us that we needed to sing to Della!

He'll use any excuse to blow out candles.

Camp's class headed to the pumpkin patch two weeks ago...Adam and I were able to join in on the fun too!

Camp has missed several days of school between going out of town, being sick and a teacher planning day.

He's finally on the mend and I know he's soooo ready to get back to school. Yesterday, he said "I want to go see my friends" :) I had all intentions on sending him to school yesterday since his fever had been gone since late Tuesday night, but he woke up yesterday morning covered in hives. We were able to get him in to see the doctor (luckily, he had a no show) and he said it was just a case of the hives probably associated with Camp's fever, but it wasn't Roseola. Poor buddy was so uncomfortable and kept asking "tickles my moseego bites" :) We got some good meds, Aveeno baths, and a good nights rest and he's hive free this morning! The dr. said he wasn't contagious and he could go to school even with the hives (and that they might last several weeks!!!) but I'm hoping and praying they are really gone for good!!

The 2nd weekend of October, we headed to Atlanta for my cousin Lee J's wedding.

When we arrived in ATL on Thursday, we headed to my sister Charlotte's house for chili...it was a great evening and I got to see my other sister, Vanessa, and meet her husband and two little girls! Vanessa's been living in Japan for the past five years, but she and her family recently moved back to the US. It was so fun to see everyone and for Camp to meet some new cousins!

After the train ride, Camp spotted a man making balloon animals...of course he got a sword!

There were other little boys that got swords as well and they all had lots of fun sword fighting together...it was pretty cute.

We had such a fun weekend and I was glad we could turn it into a little family vacation as well!

It was so nice to see family that I haven't seen in years!! As we get older, it's so hard to get everyone together at one time, but a wedding is a great excuse to do it!!

three weeks behind

Well, I guess I'm almost four weeks behind...yikes! We've been pretty busy around here...I want to share all of the fun stuff we've been up to, so I'll start from almost four weeks ago and try to work my way up to last weekend.

The first day of October, Camp and I met Holly and Sally Kate at the Museum of Florida History...

It was our first trip and Camp seemed to enjoy it...his favorite part being the gift shop! :)

Remember the HGTV show Adam and I filmed almost three years ago?? Well, it finally aired at 7:30am on September 19th (primetime, baby!) We didn't have much warning and I actually forgot it was coming on until my mom called to remind me! It was really fun to watch and I'm glad Adam was still home so he could watch it too! :) Look at sweet Camp...only 4 months old!

I thought Adam and I looked like naturals :)...it's funny that we aren't even in that house anymore, but it was neat to look back! We were told we'd get a copy of the show so hopefully we'll still end up getting it.

The weekend before Camp's birthday, Camp and I headed to St. Augustine to visit my dad and Meri.

When we arrived, Camp (and I) had birthday presents to open!

Grandma & Grandpa got him an awesome remote control Mater!

Camp thought it was pretty cool...it was his first remote control toy and he got it down really quickly!

On Saturday, we headed to the splash park and Camp had a blast!! I wish Tallahassee had a place like this...so simple yet so fun!

After the splash park, we headed to The Alligator Farm.

We got to witness alligator feeding time...it was intense at times, but those trainers would show those alligators who was boss (the trainers must have been seminoles!)

After a fun filled day, we had a scrumptious dinner of beef tenderloin, the tastiest twice baked potatoes I've ever had, and yummy fresh broccoli from the farmer's market (I will never buy frozen broccoli again!!)

For dessert (at my request) Meri made Lemon Surprise...mmmmm one of my favorite desserts of all time.

Thank you, Daddy & Meri for such a fun weekend! We'll see you again tomorrow!!

He's getting even cuter with age, if I do say so myself!

Camp had his 3 year old check up today and after waiting 2 hours, we found out he's 40.5" tall (97%) and 34.5 lbs (75%). He was so good at his appointment and sat there like such a big boy as the doctor looked at his ears, eyes, and mouth. He's a healthy 3 year old right on track with his development.

He's been fully potty trained since June 27th. Potty training was easy peasy for us...absolutely no work for me. I just stopped putting him in a diaper. He was just 1000% ready...who says boys are harder to potty train??

His favorite foods are turkey sandwiches shaped like Mickey, corn on the cob, grapes, cheetos, and broccoli.

His favorite game is "you wanna come and get me?" He usually plays this with Adam...Camp will run away and Adam will chase him...then Adam will hide behind a wall and scare him and pick him up. It can go on for quite some time, but Camp LOVES it.

His favorite tv shows are Jake and the Neverland Pirates & Dino Dan. His favorite movies include Monsters Inc, Tangled, Rio, Finding Nemo, and Cars.

He loves animals of all kinds...toads, fish, worms, caterpillars, birds, 'catties', dogs, bunnies, 'piggy banks' :)

When I asked him who his best friend was he said "Bo is my best friend" :)

His favorite songs are I Love You, You Love Me, ABC's, Row Row Row Your Boat, and Praise Him, All Ye Little Children.

He knows all of his colors. Not really sure what his favorite is though.

He'll see letters and say "that's abcdefghijkmmmmp!"

He turns everything into a gun. The past few weekends, Adam has taken Camp to the woods to go "dove huntin' " Camp thinks he is one of the big guys and when he comes home, he's on top of the world!!

He loves to ask who gave him certain things...he'll ask who gave him the shirt he's wearing, who gave us our tv, who gave us our blinds...it can go on and on and on! :) One day he asked who gave him his Thomas pajamas and I said that I had. Camp replied with, "no the Easter Bunny did!" Woops! I'm going to have to do a better job at remembering what Santa and the Easter Bunny bring! :)

He loves other children and always goes right up to them and will ask them their name or if they want to play. He's not shy in the slightest around other children...this is one thing he did not get from me! He has a fascination with babies as well.

He wears 2T shorts, 3T/4T shirts, and I'm guessing will be a 4T in pants...he needs the length! He's in a 9.5 shoe at the moment.

He's a sweet, caring, funny, and smart little boy! I'll catch myself smiling just watching him talk or play...Adam and I are always in awe of how precious and fun he is. He makes our hearts smile. We are soooo incredibly blessed to be his parents.

I think 3 is going to be a great year full of lots of new adventures! ;)

Camp woke up on his birthday to find balloons and presents waiting for him on the kitchen counter...he was pretty excited!!

He was so cute opening each present...he played with each one and then moved on to the next. His favorites were his tool box (really a tackle box) with lots of wiggly worms (or wiggy da worms as he likes to say) and his new playdough set.

When he opened his playdough he said "It's my birthday...ahhhhhhh!!!"

When he was finished opening everything he said "chank you for all of my presents!!"

After presents he had a sprinkle donut with a 3 candle...

Adam and I both took Camp to school and we brought these adorable pirate cookies for birthday snack. I brought in a picture to Tasty Pastry and they were able to recreate them perfectly!

When we got home from school, a package from Bebe & Papa was waiting for Camp on the front porch...

they sent him an awesome digital camera and he's had fun taking lots of pictures!

We decided to have a low key birthday this year and had Adam's family over for a pirate dinner!

I decorated with a few of Camp's pirate toys...

Camp couldn't wait to open even more presents! By the end of the day, he was a pro at the whole present thing!

I asked Camp what his favorite part of his entire birthday was and he said "the pirate cake with the fireworks" :) He says his favorite gift was his pirate ship boat, but he's had so much fun playing with everything! Our living room is still covered with new birthday toys, but he's been playing with everything constantly!!

Annabelle is usually pretty patient with Camp...on this particular morning, he was dressing her up as a pirate...

after he got the towel just right, he said "she's a pirate dog!!"

Last Saturday, Camp and I spent the day with Beth...she was in town and invited us over for pool time and promised birthday presents!

she knew the little buddy was into pirates so she hooked him up good with an awesome new treasure chest complete with gold doubloons!

he put on the bandana and started to dance around the treasure chest just like Jake and the Neverland Pirates... :) so cute!

on sunday, yaya made an extra special birthday dinner just for me!

All of my favorites were on the menu...yum, yum, yum!!! Yaya fried the chicken all by herself and it was the tastiest fried chicken I've ever had! I sure could go for a plate right now!! Carrie Anne made the mac and cheese...it's her specialty!

For dessert we had my favorite...cookie cake!

What a special treat!!

I turned 28 on Tuesday...Adam and I celebrated with a fabulous dinner at Shula's and enjoyed the evening out alone. I didn't take one picture on my birthday, but it was a great day! I ended up taking Camp to see The Lion King at the movie theatre...he loved it and I loved that I remembered every word to every song...I don't think I've seen The Lion King since middle school! :)

A few months ago, Camp watched an episode of Dino Dan where Dan took a trip to the dentist. After watching how much fun Dan had, Camp begged me to make him a dentist appointment. And when I say begged, I mean begged!! I called the office where Adam and I went when we were younger and asked if it was even time for him to have his first appointment...they said it was a perfect time so we went ahead and made one.

This sweet boy counted down the days and I was so worried that this new experience wasn't going to be quite all that he expected it to be...

As you can see from this smile, Camp's first dentist visit was a huge success! I was soooooo proud of him...he was an awesome patient. The hygenist kept commenting on how good he was and how she couldn't believe he was only turning three. She said that Camp needed to come in to show the older patients how to act! ;)

The best part of the whole visit was that we found out he has no cavities! :) Getting a cavity filled might put an end to the coolness of the dentist's office! He picked out a Mater sticker and an awesome new car and they said they'd see us in six months!!

Earlier tonight, the three of us were in Camp's room discussing his treasure map...he was just being too cute so I grabbed my Flip and secretly caught a glimpse of this conversation. Earlier he said "I'm going to take Thomasville Road" so Adam was trying to get him to say it again. FYI- He's saying "it's my gold doubloons in my treasure chest"

Camp started preschool this week and he was pretty excited about it!

First day of school breakfast...don't you just love his smile? :) This is usually the smile I get when I say "cheese!".

Such a big boy!

He sure loves preschool...his buddy, Bo, is in his class this year.

Camp thinks Bo is pretty cool!

Camp has probably been most excited about his "piggy bank", Rudy, or as he pronounces it, Wudy. :) When he brings snack, he will be able to feed his piggy bank.

Thank goodness we'll bring snack twice in September because of his birthday!! :)

After school, we headed to Hopkins for a turkey sandwich...

and then to tasty pastry for a dinosaur cookie...

every time we drive by tasty pastry, camp will say "guess what? do you want to get a dinosaur cookie?" he loves looking at all of the yummy goodies and one of his favorite things in the bakery is a sample monster cake.

after we get a treat from tasty pastry, he always wants to sit down outside to eat it...this day was no different!

The first week of preschool was a huge success. I'm so excited for the new school year and a new season. Fall...you can't get here soon enough!! :)

Exactly two weeks ago, we were headed north to Lake Rabun in Lakemont, Georgia...one of my new favorite places.

Our house was located right on the lake, but in a little cove so we could swim and float without worrying about boats driving by.

If we weren't swimming, we were in the boat picking out our favorite lake houses...

or tubing...this is Bop Bop!

Camp thought it was pretty fun to watch Bop Bop on the tube!

Every house had a boat house that was just as beautiful as the main house...

loved this one...

this house is for sale...it was my absolute fave of every house on the lake. I did a little math and if we had 18 people go in with us, it would be $1000 a month...I think we could swing that! :)

This boy had the BEST time. He loved going on boat rides and swimming. He keeps asking to swim in the lake and go on boat rides...I think this was Camp's favorite vacation of all!

There were steps off the boat house dock that walked right down to the water...Camp could get in and out of the water so easily. See how clear the water was? It was just gorgeous...and the temperature was perfect. It wasn't too cold that it took your breath away, but it was soooo very refreshing. The weather was beyond perfect as well...I even had chill bumps some evenings! Chill bumps in the middle of August?? I'll take it!

It was a fantastic vacation and I'm hoping we can go back every year!! You might have noticed Adam wasn't in any pictures and that's because he didn't go! :( Boo hoo...he couldn't get away from work, but was pretty miserable without us...and after I showed him all of the pictures! We've all told him that he's definitely going next year, even if we have to strap him to the luggage rack! I know he would have loved it too!!

We had supper club on Sunday...the last one with the Micas as Florida residents... :(

It was so much fun...as usual!

Camp was in the living room the other day and was very quiet. Usually that's a tell tale sign of disaster and this time was no different. At least he knows where the concealor, eyeliner, mascara, and eyeshadow goes! :)

When we have nothing planned for the day, I'll usually ask Camp what he wants to do. More times than not, he'll respond with "I wanna go to Disney World to see Meeka". Today he said he wanted to go to the airport, so to the airport we went!

We arrived around noon and I saw that a plane would be arriving from ATL around 12:30...

while waited Camp pretended he was an airplane...

Camp was hoping that we'd be able to ride on the airplane, but I told him it really didn't work like that. Oh how I wish I still had my Delta non rev card in my wallet...we could fly to Atlanta, have lunch and fly home! :)

Camp was so excited to see the airplane. It's only natural that he has an attraction to airplanes...Bebe was a flight attendant for Delta for 30 years, my Aunt Vicki is still a flight attendent for Delta, my cousin Trey is a pilot for ASA, and Grandpa had his pilot's license! With Papa & Trip in the maritime industry, we have all sorts of tranpsortation covered in our family!

After saying goodbye to the airplane, Camp spotted the game room. I sat there and watched him "play" the games for probably 30 minutes. He had a blast going from game to game...I wonder when he won't be content playing these games without money? :)

I wish all public restrooms were like the restrooms at the airport...these little built in stools for kids are just brilliant.

Wow...didn't I just title a blog post "end of june"? Oh wait, yes I did! Where has this month gone?? I can't believe this is only my third blog post of the month...a definite all time low for "our gunter family" Our summer has been an absolute whirlwind. I'm actually looking forward to Camp starting school (in three short weeks...don't cry Yaya!) for the mere fact of getting back into a routine. I thrive on routines and this summer has definitely lacked one! Camp reeeeeally misses his "sook" (school) and all of his friends. He asks me "when are we going to see my friends" or says "I miss my friends". We'll drive by his school and he'll say "there's my sook!" "there's my playground!" He's looking forward to feeding "the piggy bank" aka guinea pig in his new class.

Camp's favorite song at the moment (and for the past two months) is "Who Says" by Selena Gomez. You should see this child dance when it comes on the radio...he's always saying "who says you're the only one that's perfect" :) LOL the real lyrics are "who says you're not perfect" He'll even see a picture of Selena and know she sings that song.

Playing in the rain...naked. That's a lid from a trash can and a piece of firewood. What can I say, the child sure has an imagination! :)

Camp wanted to watch Pirates of the Caribbean a few weeks ago, but I told him it was probably a little too scary for him. He said "It's not scary, it's just pretend" :) He loves Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney Junior and sings "Yo ho mateys away, pee po, pee po, pee po" about five hundred million times a day. It's really "Yo ho mateys away, heave ho...something or another" ;)

Adam took Camp to work with him a few days ago and they had a blast. Adam even took him to the fire station too! Adam knew a few of the firemen working so Camp got to spray the firehose and one of the guys even dressed up in his full fire gear.

I took Camp to the Mary Brogan museum this week to see the bugs exhibit...he was a little scared at first, especially of the giant fighting beetles, but he warmed up to them pretty quick. The caterpillar was his favorite. He said "hey caterpillar, how ya doin' caterpillar" then when we left to go upstairs he said "I'll come back caterpillar"

After the trip to the museum we headed to Tijuana Flats for lunch...I love lunch dates with this little man!!!

Camp found some directions rolled up in the cabinet and they quickly became his map/telescope...have I mentioned he's really into pirates these days???? :)

On Wednesday night I headed out with the girls for a private shopping event "won" by Holly...we spent most of our time eating, drinking, and talking rather than shopping, but it was an absolute BLAST and I thoroughly enjoyed my night out with some of my favorite girls.

It also served as a semi surprise going away dinner for Mary...boo hoo! Don't even get me started...I cried when I moved 12 minutes away so I can only guess how I'll react when she moves five HOURS away!!

Last Friday, my friend Lauren got married in Ponte Vedra. I headed east early Friday afternoon was greeted by horrendous storms the entire road trip! The rain finally let up right before the ceremony started and thank goodness, everything was held inside!

Beth got the hook up at her “other Lane’s” house right on the beach…we were there less than 24 hours, but when I arrived and saw this view, I was wishing our stay would be a little bit longer!

Paul & Beth showed up not much longer after I got there…we said our hellos (and I FINALLY met Paul) and got ready in record time.

The ceremony was lovely. Lauren had her dad and step-dad walk her down the aisle…something I haven’t seen since I got married and it brought tears to my eyes! After the ceremony, we headed to TPC Sawgrass. The reception was great and I love to be around people I went to high school with. I love reminiscing and being reminded of high school shenanigans…things I had forgotten! We can go months without seeing each other, but we all pick up where we left off. There’s really nothing like it! I had so much fun. The only thing that would have made it better is if Adam would have been there too! I had a little too much fun mingling so the pictures are few and far between, but it was a wonderful celebration and I can’t wait until the next opportunity until we can all get together again! I guess it’ll be the 10 year reunion…next summer!

Our 4th of July was pretty great! Camp and I ended up spending TEN days at the beach! Adam had to go back to work for three days, but then joined us again. We did the usual...boating, swimming, eating, drinking, relaxing, & playing. We also hit up Shipwreck Island. I don't think I've ever seen Camp have more fun! He had a blast!!

We all got to witness a huge porpoise come right up to our boat...Camp loved it and is still talking about it. Papa asked him what his favorite part of the day was and he said " the big ol' huge dolphin" :)

After our boat trip we headed to the shaved ice place to get some yummy cold treats...mmm they were sooooo good!

Here are some pictures from the past week and our fabulous laid back weekend.

Barrett came over to play and I overheard Camp telling him "My mommy made cupcakes and they had rainbows on them" :) I couldn't help but smile...I love doing special things with Camp and it seems like he really does appreciate them!!

Camp is a swimming machine (or mishasheen as he likes to say) these days!!

He loves to jump off the side of the pool and into our arms...then he'll swim back to the steps and do it all over again.

He also likes when his Daddy throws him high into the air!

Adam, Camp, & I saw Cars 2 on Sunday. We enjoyed the little family outing...the movie was cute, but not as cute as the first. They never are! :)

We took a trip to the pool with the Campbells on Monday.

As always, we had a great time! Camp had fun shooting the water guns and jumping off the side of the pool 500 times, but he was still unsure about the giant bucket pouring the water out at major force! :)

Camp hasn't worn a diaper during the day since Sunday! Last night he even went through the whole night with big boy underwear (the first night we've tried that). I'm so happy and proud of him. I knew he was ready...I just wasn't quite ready to give up the freedom of diapers! :) Running errands and being away from home hasn't been as daunting as I thought it would be though...and the beauty of having a boy is that he can go pretty much anywhere! :) And he usually does!

FYI- I started this post Wednesday morning! It's now Thursday morning! :)

This post will be random and all over the place...I have so many pictures that need to be shared! Our summer has been incredibly busy! I was so worried that we'd be bored out of our minds, but between swim lessons, beach trips, wedding soirees, trips to the library, going to see movies, "fwimmin' in da pool at Yaya & Bop Bop's, and going to Chuck E. Cheese, we've been pretty occupied! Today is the first day we've had nothing on the agenda...but Adam and I are headed out for date night tonight! Yippee!!
(***Adam and I had a lovely evening out...thank you, Carrie Anne! We saw a movie and actually got carded...the movie was rated R, so I guess Adam and I could pass for 16 these days!! Hey, we'll take it!! :) ***)

I made these cupcakes (idea from here) and they were fabulous! I love adding extra ingredients to box cake mix to make them extra yummy. I bought the neon gel food coloring at our brand spankin' new Hobby Lobby and I love the way the color turned out.

I found these cupcake boxes in the dollar section at Target and the cupcakes looked pretty darn cute packaged in this colorful box!

Camp loved the "rainbow cupcakes" and you can see our first child wishing she could have just one little bite!! ;)

Playing on his new Cars slip and slide...with the release of Cars 2 just two days away, we are loving that there are so many Cars themed snacks, toys, and even Kleenex boxes out in the stores!!

Speaking of movies, Camp and I have been frequent movie goers this summer. We saw Rio & Kung Fu Panda 2 and Camp loved them both...it's such a fun outing for us. We get popcorn and Coke (Camp's request) and enjoy our entertainment in the air conditioning.

Our garden is growing like a weed!! We have at least six cucumbers, eight watermelons & canteloupes, a few green bell peppers and the squash is out of control!! These are all new additions to our garden and I'm so glad they are doing so well. I love it because those are all things that we eat a lot of and I'm sooooo very excited for them to ripen.

Camp and I made oreo brownie bites (idea from here) and they were a huge hit!

Camp took swim lessons the past two weeks and I think he got a lot out of them. It was a definite beginners class, but it's just what he needed.

I showed up to Camp's swim lessons on the first day and was shocked to realize that Camp's swim teacher was the same teacher I (and Trip!) had when I took swim lessons in elementrary school...some twenty years ago!

She's extreeeeemely patient and should be given a medal...she was awesome! She gave the parents lots of tips to practice once swim lessons were over. We've been going to Yaya & Bop Bop's lots to brush up on our swimming skills. :)

We took a beach trip with the Edenfields and Campbells...Adam, Camp, & I took a little cruise on the boat while we waited for our friends to arrive at the marina.

We took a cruise up the river to check out the shrimp boats...they were all so pretty!

Mary & David's wedding was simply wonderful. The ceremony was held at St. Peter's Anglican Church and it was the prettiest wedding ceremony I've ever been to. After Mary & David said "I Do", we headed to the old capitol for a fabulous wedding reception!

The flowers were gorgeous!!

Mary & David are now enjoying two weeks in Italy...I don't think anything can top the fabulous wedding, but I'm sure Italy is coming close!!

Mary and David tied the knot this weekend and it was a glorious affair! It started Thursday night with a fabulous Cuban themed fiesta...black beans, cuban sandwiches, chicken enchilada casserole, and sangria were on the menu. The party was just perfect and I enjoyed mingling with some of my favorite people! I brought my camera out to take pictures and realized I'd left my memory card in my computer, but I took a couple pictures from Heather's blog! :) It was a lovely evening and a great way to kick off a fabulous wedding weekend!

Every single toast was so sweet and thoughtful...

One of my favorite toasts of the night was the one made by Holly & Michael (mary's sister & brother) They sang Old Fashioned Wedding...the hilarious duet was performed without a hitch and they even got a standing ovation! It was just awesome...those Radcliffe's are sure talented!!

anniversary getaway

Adam and I spent a long weekend away at the beach to celebrate our five year anniversary. We had the best time and it was so nice to get away and relax...to not be on any schedule! We went on the boat, watched lots of movies, slept in, and ate at fabulous restaurants.
It was the perfect trip...

We took a sunset cruise on Thursday and watched the sunset while we floated in the water with our inner tubes! ;) It was so fun!

We ate lunch at Provisions...best restaurant ever!

Another sunset cruise...we stayed in the bay on this night.

PSJ Marina...they say they're the friendliest marina in Florida and we have to agree with them!

Saturday was spent out at the point...we were out there all day and I spent the whole time in the water. It was lovely!

Can't believe we've been married for five years!!

Thank you to Yaya, Bop Bop, Carrie Anne, & Dave for watching our little buddy. We were told that Camp was a perfect little prince and never cried once!! When Adam and I went to pick Camp up and told him it was time to go home, he said "No, I can't go home" :) He had so much fun on his own weekend away!!

It's nice to know that we weren't missed too much! :) We'll just have to plan some more getaways again real soon!!

memorial day weekend 2011

We had a really fun Memorial Day weekend down at the beach...so much fun that I forgot to take pictures! Well, I took a few, but not my usual. I gave myself the weekend off! :)

We spent all of Sunday on the boat...the weather was perfect!!

Me and my favorite sister in law! :)

We all swam in the water...even the little buddy! He wore his little life jacket and enjoyed bobbing in the water. He was happiest when no one was holding him and he could float on his own.

Sunday night, Yaya, Carrie Anne, and I ventured to Sunset Coastal and enjoyed a lovely dinner. Adam, Dave, Bop Bop, & Camp stayed home and fried fish. It was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to many more beach trips this summer...the next one being this weekend with my wonderful hubby of FIVE years! :)

school's out for the summer

Camp had his last day of two day/two year old preschool today. Boo hoo! :( I fought hard to hold back the tears when I picked him up this afternoon, but they came anyway! Camp's had a great year with wonderful teachers and the sweetest little classmates. I'm so sad to say goodbye to such a perfect first year of preschool, but I'm so thankful we still have at least three years at the best preschool in the whole wide world!!

Even though Camp is only in preschool, the end of the school year proved to be quite a busy one...he had his spring program last week where he and his class performed a few songs they learned in music.

Yaya sat on the first row with her class so I had her take pictures...Adam and I sat in the back hoping to hide from Camp, but he saw us right away...

He wanted nothing to do with singing on stage and just wanted to come see his mommy...I could read his lips saying "mommy, mommy, mommy" :( bless his little heart!

He held it together enough, but didn't want Mrs. Mills to let him go! :)

After his performance, I took him to get cupcakes!

We use any excuse to get cupcakes! :)

Camp brought his teachers these market totes for an end of the school year gift...they'd always comment on mine when I brought it in so I figured it would be the perfect gift. We were so blessed with Mrs. Pearson & Mrs. Mills as Camp's first preschool teachers...they love the little buddy and it definitely shows.

Camp had his end of school year party on Tuesday and it was the cutest thing ever...check out the personalized towels, buckets, and sugar cookies!! Adorable!

They had a Hawaiian themed snack of fruit kabobs, goldfish, and Nemo fruit snacks...

All of the kiddos had so much fun playing with the water table, pool, sprinkler, and shaving cream!

Camp had a blast with the magnetic fishing pole & fish...we might have to go get this for a fun new summer toy!

After school we headed to lunch to celebrate/mourn! :) Haha...

I remember my mom always taking us for ice cream or a special snack after the last day of school...

And just for fun, I took a picture of Camp this morning (his last day of school) to compare to his first day of school picture...it just so happens that he's wearing the same shorts so you can really see how much he's grown since August!
